View Full Version : Buggy, land boarding and kitesurfing locations needed
Hi all,
I am in the process of creating a clickable map of all the popular buggy, land boarding and kitesurfing locations around Australia.
If you have any details of popular sites, please add them here and I will add them to the map. Some of the details that would be useful could include how to get there, field / beach size, known obstacles, best wind directions, and pictures.
Many thanks,
Gavan
wander into my site and grab whatever you want, as i mentioned i'm narrowing my scope to victoria due to a lack of input from other states, perhaps we can collaborate? you're based in nsw aren't you? The main site is down for upgrades but you can direct link to the old locations section via http://www.kitesurfaustralia.com.au/locations/locationsframe.htm

Would this replace the "Where are best places to fly / buggy / surf?" in FAQ? I was people would put some info on there 'cause i have no idea where the best kite spots (generally beaches) are. I would love some info on your map of NSW beaches, as I go down quite often. Places within driving distance from Batemans bay, Muramarang etc.
Thanks
Ian

Good luck! Currently there is NO site which has succeeded with a comprehensive list of kiteboarding locations, land, buggy or water.
Although there are plenty that have tried...
What Australia needs is heaps of small local area sites, with heaps of info on that area, and then the major sites can link to them.
Otherwise, what we end up with (unless you want to go the whole way) is a whole series of incomplete sites, which promise to be a 'gateway' to Australian kiting, but really have very little information, and location info that is rarely if ever updated (outside the webmasters own areas).
As I said, good luck!
Thanks for that bear, I will do that.
Goshen, you're right about most webmasters only updating sites that directly interest themselves. Of course I will always be updating these sites myself, but I really have to rely on others to update me on sites that I do not visit. There a couple of sites that have been mentioned in these forums and I will try to find out about some others. But on the most, I will be relying on you guys to update me.
thanks,
Gav
Ok, the map is now up and running -> www.extreme-kites.com/location.php Check it out and add in some sites! (there is a tab at the top the page that allows you to add a kiting site).
regards,
Gavan
