Hey all
What do we know about sand boarding. How well do they work with kite on flat sand, does anyone know???
If you dont know what a sand board is, its basicallya snow baord for sand.

Well, I think you need soft sand (ie sand dunes, not hard beach). It's perfectly possible, but it is very difficult to go upwind, as it's hard to hold an edge in sand, unlike snow or grass.
I'd be keen to try it out some day. Perhaps this summer...

There are so many snow ski's at our local Op-Shops and recycling yard that I just have to try this... but not with my Wip' 11.5 :-D

that would be fun down at sandy point would be interesting on som eof the dunes, might have a go at making one... i aint forking out 290 for a sand board...

Talk to alex sanz about sandkiting. I saw him yesterday at StKilda beach kiting in the water with a 6.6 blade3 and a board (not sure what) without fins. He came flying into the beach full bore, hit the sand and kept on going! Kited along the sand for a good 40 -50 metres. Now thats all terrain kiting!
