G'day to all you keen kite buggiers out there
this post is to inform you all of a great beach run in portfairy in summer. starts at the main beach in portfairy and goes to kilarney and back to
portfairy about 13 kilometers return trip or
you can go further to the cutting but it is a lot harder.
u need a southerly or southeasterly for a return trip.
southwesterly one way.
the run consists of 2 to 3 k's fast beach/ a couple patches of rocks/seaweed & 1 small sand dune.
it realy test your skills

let me now if you need anymore info :D

Hi Warren

Is this the route for the buggy race held down at Port Fairy??

Since when did you get an Air Maxx, I thought you might have got an ARC??
Are you a buggier or have you joined that young Dave guy and are terrorising the poor fish ???
I think you should do the run on your MTB???
Now that is a challenge.

G.day nigel

I am not shure about the race venue
that will be decided on the day I would say
I have been trying out the arcs(840&630)
they r a lot of fun but i think leading edge inflatables and arcs
r like raptors to c-quads some r easier to fly than others
as for the buggy run I would sooner buggy
it is a interesting thought we will have to try it
you will have to get yourself a mtb
as for the crossing over thing I like to keep my options open
buggying will always be my may thing
one thing i learnt this winter is doen't do the bridge run at southcombe park
with a seat belt on I was going over the 2nd last bridge got to bottom
and kite luft I could not get out quick so my 3.5 raptor whent for a
swim in the creek mudy & weedy
never again

do many people ever try that run at southcombe park?? how many people here have done it??? it may be enticing but there is also the public to think about.

I don't see any problem with the public at all.
As long as you are ever watching for them and don't run them over, then why can I not use the park the same as them??
I am just a wide bike.
We are just a bit different to other park users but have the same rights as them.
Often people are more interested in us than you think.
They want to know how it works, how much it costs and where can they get one.
As I buggy at Moran res. in Elwood, there are hundreds of people that use that park on a nice sunny day.
It is the once in a blue moon person that thinks that we have no right to use the park for our "crazy" activities.
But just look at what we do.
We don't leave our rubbish behind us, like those dog owners, and there pooing dogs.
We travel no faster than a fast bike on the bike track which is next to and part of the park.
We give other kite fliers space to fly their kite (only because their lines will cut ours like a hot knife through butter).
We don't drive through footy games that other people are playing.
But most of all we try to keep a safe distance from other people.
Some times it is hard to do as peole blindly walk through our area that we are using, giving you the biggest stare as if we have commited some crime.
I am sorry but it gives me the S#*TS that some one else says we can not do that here!!!
We have insurance and wear safety gear, as well as acting in a curtious manner to other park users, and I know who will be the first one to go if some 5 year old runs out from behind a bush in to a buggy.
I pitty the poor buggier who cops the blame, they (I hope) will be acting as described which is better than half the bike riders you see who have no helmet and no F#*king insurance.
What will happen to the cyclist, slap on the wrists??
I bet they don't get banned from using parks!!!!!

(hang on must stop to breathe)

The only other steps that I can think of to improve our future use of parks is to wear bright clothes, like those ones the truck drivers wear; and to have a bell or horn to warn the public.
I have just found a compressed air horn in a bike cat. and it is rated at 115db, I am thinking of getting one. Now I can kill old people buy using my horn and giving them heart attacks.

Look out world Nigel is in the park!!!!!

I have also used Southcombe park too, and done the track.

nigel u have just explained evering thing that i was thinking
and more GOOD WORK!!!
the bridge run that I was talking about is not a fast run
it is tight and slow in most parts apart from on the waydown main bridge u can see if any thing is in your way!
down here we play by the rules the last thing we want to do
is upset any body and have parks beaches taken away from us.
public safety is our main priority

Nigel & I r the only buggiers to complete that corse
with out getting out of the buggy
no I do not want to buy your 840 justin
I think u should keep it and get a 630 arc
they r good buggy I have buggying with them
all winter all my raptors have stayed in my kite bag
darren pearce and I went to the air strip in 18 to 23kt's
darren had a g10 on realy short lines and I had the 630
on standard lines we where absolutly flying I never realy
thought arcs depowered that much until that day :D
