Regarding the T's - simple - the shirts must be ordered and printed before the first race. If only 20 people respond, then only 20 shirts will be printed. If after the first race, another 5 people also decide they want shirts, then the cost goes up to $30, because we have to run around and print another smaller batch - cost is higher, but at least you still get a shirt.
Apart from that, it's no scam - just an incentive to get you off your butts and order a shirt. :)
I'll post a pic here once we've got the design sorted.
So what's your size? Who else is coming to the first round?
Thanks Nigel, for putting up that info, and we won't be eating your dust, we'll be eating your grass!
Cheers,
Goshen

I don't think it was Gus as he doesn't have an N-Gen.
But I think I know who it was.
One of the semi-regular guys who turns up at Moran Res.
He picked up a PL comp buggy, N-Gen 3.7(black, purple and blue) and a harness on E Bay for $550 Aus. A guy in Frankston was selling it.
A very nice buggy and kite used a few times but no major ware.
Good package if you wanted to get into bugging.
He came a showed us his new toys and I had a quick fly to see if there were any faults, results, flys very well and in good condition. Buggy in the same condition.
Are we to see you Gav at the buggy races???
Nigel
ok, that sounds like him. Looks like he's added a flexideck to his kit now too.
Yeah I'll be at Altona on the weekend. I've got some other stuff to do in the mornin though, so don't know if I'll make it in time. Hopefully I will. If I don't, looks like I'll just be a spectator.

It's the first race, and no doubt it'll be a slack morning, getting organised, registering people and all that.
The start time is still 10am, but I doubt racing will start till noon. See you there!

Hey Goshen,
Please change the kite I used to the correct one which was a Libra Bora 3.7 for the second race. :x
And to answer your question on if my wheel would break??
The answer would be, No, it would not break. I lost one of the two bolts (held on with a ny-lock, which should NOT :!: have come off) which locks in the camber setting. I could have continued ,at a slower pace maybe, but I had more than half a lap on Andrew when I stopped.
I still don't know how Craig managed to get third place in the first race (I thought I got third :? ) when I had lapped everyone twice, bar Neil who I had lapped once and was setting up for another pass. Andrew was a bit more than half a lap behind when I hit the pits to get another bolt.
The second race I got the flat too. Which put me back to third place.
I don't know how you can talk so highly of the Razors when my C-Quad was 2-3 seconds a lap quicker. Don't take my word for it. Contact the race officier (John). He informed me of the times after the first race was over, and I used the Libre Bora ( take note to change web site, not one of those borring white Airea kites ) for the second race.

Pete,
The vids going up very soon, just been so busy. Rather than just put up a bland link to a video, I want to write at least something for the trip (or use what Justin wrote). Bear is working on the other footage, hopefully we'll have that up just in time for next winter! :)

Hello Nigel,
I have changed your kite to Libre, sorry - don't know what I was thinking.
Also changed some of the wording, ie: "Race officer apologies to Nigel, because of a possible lapse in notification protocol., I'll make sure this won't happen again". Sorry if there was any offence in what I wrote.
Regarding the scoring, I just put up what the scoresheets say. If you think there's an error, then we'll have to bring it up with John. I've posted scans of the sheets, so everyone can see how they went. There are no apologies for messiness. Please be nice!
And, yes C-Quads are awesome too, just most people prefer foils, and of course I'm going to talk up the Ozone more - we're selling them! Besides, no one else is using them in the races, and I'd like to see more people try - we've got stock to sell, and on the Kitepower site I reserve the right to plug them as much as I want! :-)
I think it's unfortunate that there was any miscommunication, but we're not out there to rig anything (not that you're implying that), and just want to have a good time. If your bolt didn't work loose, then I would have been forced to sing the praises of Libra and C-Quads - make sure you make me do it next time :)
All the best,
Goshen

No offence taken, Goshen. 8)
I just wanted the correct kite name displayed. Much the same reason you are pluging the Razor.
The Boras are another race kite that no one uses. On the international forums there is quite a bit of talk about there qualities, and the other race kites, Raptor and Razors.
I was give the chance to fly a Bora and see how it stacks up against the other kites. I think my third place in the second race is quite good as a foil handles a bit differently to my C-Quads. I had to adjust my flying style and get used to it. I should have come second but got the flat.
I know I lost a lot of ground to Andrew on the first two laps as I was still comming to grips with the Bora, Neil even passed me on the first down wind run to the marker, showing that I need a bit more practice with foils.
I got Neil back on the next lap though. :)
As for the Razor, I have flown Andrews and liked it more than a Raptor. But as Ozone is based in france, I will NEVER support a company from there due to that countrys nuke tests in the pacific.

Fair enough.
noooo not politics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how's this, would you think it was fair to refuse to buy anything from ANY aussie company just because of our appalling history of atomic testing?
You'd better move to antarctica.....
I LOVE to stir.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nigel

I WOULD love to move to Antarctica!!!!
One day lasts six months, and I think I could get further than those guys who only got to the end of the runway. Only one problem, no dogs to run over :(
I don't hold any grudges against a country for what happened many years ago, but the french in recent years tested several bombs and for what reason???? If their counrty was blowing up their first bomb then good luck, but they have done more than enough "tests" to know if they work or not.
Enough politics.
More kites!!
