Hi all,
Does anyone konw of some good kiting locations in the south eastern suburbs. At the moment mainly just recreational flying but I want to get into landboarding when I get around to buying one.
Thanks Andrew

One good place I know is Freeway Reserve in mulgrave. just off Wellington rd. near the monash freeway. nice big open area. and no goal posts this time of year. only problem ( and this is true for most inland areas in melbourne ) is that it can be a bit gusty in certain winds.
hope this helps.

Thanks Pete I know where you mean I had never thought of this reserve.
At Hastings there is a large grassed dog walking area on the waters edge that is ok. The only problem with this one is that the wind usually blows offshore, so is fairly gusty. There are some bumps and holes on one side that you've got to watch out for too. I've managed to get my front wheel stuck in it a couple of times and it hurts!
At Aspendale on the beach at low tide is ok too. Just watch out for all the walkers.

Hey, i can help you out as i live in boronia, where abouts in ferntree gully are you? some good spots would be; along cathies lane there is an area that is the size of 2-3 footy feilds and because it is on top of a hill you can find that you are above the tree line, i use this spot all the time. there is also the carribean gardens but i havent flown there because when ever i go the market is on... nortons park, and along high street there is a model areo plane club and that is also a sweet place to fly. i wonder if the arebouritum? (spelling i dunno) would be fly able, will go and check it out. but the first spot i mentiond would be the best spot and if you would like i can get you a melways reference if you have any troubles finding it.
