Ok, whilst there is a location part to this site, it isn't very in depth. The question is-
Where is the best beach within 45 minutes travel north or South of Sydney, to fly a power kite, not kitesurf.
Whats better a place with good wind, or a wide beach, ie entrance to water
I was hoping for some body dragging and scudding
Thanks

You might want to email the guys at Kite Power in Sydney, they should be able to help you.
Sorry I'm from Melbourne.

Hi,
If you are looking for a place to just body drag around a beach we usually fly at greenhills, which is just north of wanda beach at cronulla. Best winds are NE & SE. Just mind the newly erected sand dune fencing!!! Not a bad spot for atb either.
Does anybody know of any good spots to buggy around Sydney? Don't really mind how far I have to travel. I normally atb but am buggying for a few months on account of a broken leg!
Matt. :)

There are plenty of good long beach runs in Wollongong at low tide.

Thanks, I hadn't even thought to try Woolongong... I live near Sutherland, so it's not very far! What beaches are good ones to try and what wind directions are best? I will definitely head down for a look.
Cheers!

I mountain board on a grass area at Towradgi beach good in NE better in SE,as you can get pulled to close to the car park.Just becareful of people as i am the olny atb person to use this park, and lots stop and look from the bike track and run past you.Buggies i also have one. East Corrimal excellent beach in SE.I have many times gone from here to Bellambi and back to Towradgi. This would take a person half an hour just to walk in one direction.NE park at Bellambi car park and walk down the stairs and away you go right around to woonona and back. These are excellent spots so please becarefull if you come down. I want to beusing them in years to come.kITEBOARDING. best at sandon point and peggies.

Hi Leigh,
That's great, thankyou so much for the info. I will definitely be careful and respectful as always when using these spots. My mate rides ATB also, so he will be pleased to hear of a new spot to visit. My cast comes off my leg in two weeks, so I might see you down there soon after that.
If you notice new kites in the area, I fly a light blue blade II 6.4 and a blue ozone little devil 3.0, please come up and say g'day!
