View Full Version : Wanted, Kite to fill gap
Can anyone give me some advice on which way to go, I am looking to fill the gap between a LD3m and 4.9 blade III for ATB.
I have been sussing out the frenzy's but due to the sizes available im not sure that it would fill that gap unless the depower system (which I have never used before so I don't understand the full potential of) can cover my needs.
I just want to fill the gap and not replace a kite although if i had to i would replace the LD (i also have a 2m blade II)
schultzie you recommended the G-arc and the f-arc in another topic whats the comparison between that and the frenzy do you or anyone know?
Help there's too much to chose from!!

well the smallest g arc is a 10m, and is good on the mountainboard form 15knots to around 25 and for kite surfing the g10 is good from 20 to bout 35knots, i dont recommentd the f-arc unless you are a good flyer as they have a tendancy to bow tie, but they have stacks of depower, can kite surf in 8knots to 20-25kn
i would have thought the 3 and the 4.9 would be fine i woudnt have an in between kite. i would however have a bigger kite, if you are coming down this weekend u can have a fly of my g10, and im sure everyone will be willing to help...
bust a question is ur ld on handles or a bar, handles are the way to go on a foil, talk to goshen bout the frenzys, all i know about them is that they need a good stable wind, and the depower issue will take you a couple hours to fully get the grasp of.

i just realised you are in sydney, if you are interested in the arcs talk to kiteworks in newcastle, they all fly the g's

Who's LD3m are you replacing jsea? A guy breaks his leg and lets his mate borrow his kite for three months and now he wants to replace them! ha ha! just kidding!
Hey hey Not once did I say I "owned" the LD
Thanks schultzie yeah unfortunately I can't get to Melb too easily, I am going to have a chat to Steve and see what he's got but i'll also look into Kiteworks.
Yeah mattyw's LD (happy matt) :) is on handles great kite but i'm looking for a kite with good, very good pulling power for around 20knts and above for jumping, as soon as the wind touches 20-25knts my blade 4.9 overpowers me, which is fine but due to the small areas we have to play with in Sydney i don't feel comfortable, you go for a jump and by the time you land, your kite is in the rotar of a bank of trees. The LD is great from 25knts and up but the winds here are quite often sitting in that bracket where i am just too overpowered or just underpowered (for jumps).
Thanks for your help though, i'll just have to put some weight on and keep that 4.9 down

but then you will need more wind again... ever think of that.... what about a 460 arc, can be flown on handles, but not recommended, the only down side to the 460 is that it is extremly fast and doing any jumps withs grabs, or spin tricks are quite dangerous. good floaty kite though...
Mmmm thanks schultzie, I'm going to try and test a few before I commit to buying one.
Thanks heaps for all your help though you sure have increased my options, which is good I'll let you know which way I go when I have decided.
Happy flying :D
Ok so I went in to Kite Power and inquired about my lil' dilema and a simple and cheap solution was to shorten my lines. I can't believe I didn' t think of that.
Then they tempted me with the frenzy's anyway, bastards now I REALLY want one! Oh well gotta save up first.
Thanks heaps for all your info I found it really did help I just found a cheaper solution.
