A group of us went snowkiting up to Thredbo last year (up over the back) which was great fun. Lots of room to play with. At Perisher the only place to kite is in the field next to the car park. Good first timer practice, but not much fun otherwise. If you kite at Thredbo it is advisable you go with several people as the kiting area is about 30-45min off piste, but well worth it. You only need to get a one way siteseeing lift ticket to get there ($12 compared to $65?). The end of the season (late August-early september) is meant to be the best time because of clearer skis and (more) constant. Mt Hotham also has some good spots, but I have yet to kite there. PM Goshen as I believe he is planning a few trips this year (Check out the kitepower.com.au website for some Australian snowkiting Videos (goshen again!))
