I will still be going down.
You might want to bring your kitesurfing gear!!!
I know that Goshen has kitesurfed on the Common before!!
We might want to hit the beach but the high tide is around 1pm

To all the others that failed to make it to the racing event today at the Common. You missed a very diverse range of activities.
We had Justin trying his best to cover himself in water from head to foot, and the mud stains to prove it.
All of us I think did get a bit wet throughout the day. Quite a few standing water puddles ( they did smell a bit though  )
The wind was its usual self for a very gusty Westerly.
I think all of us got lifted out of our buggyies at some stage or another.
I do rember standing on my foot pegs for a second or two, trying to get my bum back into the seat but to no avail. I cleared the buggy heading down wind having to spin round while being dragged by the kite.
Came to a halt and the buggy passed me.
I was quite lucky in the fact that I had not luffed the kite, so powered it up and I then passed the buggy again. I managed to stagger back to the buggy and under way again.
These gusty winds proved very hard to master. One second your going sideways fully powered, the next your wishing you had a bigger kite.
There were tangled lines, luffed kites, and mud puddles to dodge the whole time. I had a ball!!! But then pigs like playing in mud!!
It was a race where the kite that stayed in the air the longest won.
WARNING bragging comencing!!!
C-Quads don't mind gusty wind, they perform well as they are a framed kite. They hold their shape and are less prone to luffing than a foil.
A D-Wing would have done well too!!!
So the C-Quads went very well. :D
The conditions were just as bad for the mountain boarders. They too spent a bit of time rolling around in the mud
We also had several visitors to the races, these included the police the ambos and the local paper.
Ross must have felt a little anoyed at being left out of the centre of attention, and got lifted durring the second race. I don't think anyone saw the accident but I did see Ross doing the best dead man impression I've ever seen any kiter do  (even better than those kitesurfers do!!)
Ross had knocked himself out, and was being dragged by his kite.
Leon and myself got to him at almost the same time and got rid of his kite, and tried to make sure Ross was ok.
He came to shortly after and was in a fair bit of pain. He had taken a big whack to the head Even with a helmet, was K.O.ed!!!
So the Ambos were called, and came to help the injured Ross.
While reciving help from the ambos, the police called around to find out some information as they had heard that someone was injured in a motorised buggy.
They were soon satisfied that were had no motors and left.
I think some one at the local paper was on a scanner and they must have got the same bum steer that the boys in blue had got.
They arrived soon after the police left and had heard that a motorised glider had gone down :?
We had a good chat to the two guys and they took some photos, wrote a bit of a story and best part was they took the photos of ME!!! :D
So look forward to a photo or two of me in the Geelong paper!!!
But I can only thank Ross for having his brush with death as it has put me in the lime light. (fingers crossed!!)
I hope that Ross is on the mend, and we see him soon in a buggy tearing up the feild just like the rest of us
Get well soon Ross!!!!!

there are no stains the water woudnt let the mud hang around for long, ne way, good write up and lets hope that ross will be fine and that he has not done his back again.
and this is a good warning message remember to wear saftey gear because no one is invincable... i wear one and i am glad i do because i would be un concencious a lot of the time if i diddnt... prehaps i should take it to schoolies,
cya all in 3 weeks with the final tally...
Shultzie, the only way a helmet will help next week is if it is on backwards.
Ross, we are all thinking of you and hoping for a speedy recovery.
