Hey all,
Is there a general rule of thumb re tyre pressures for the type of surface you're buggying on? Of the places I'm going to be able to do this, I've got surfaces that will range from hard packed sand, to that type of sand that looks hard, but your foot breaks the surface and sinks in an inch or so when you stand on it.

The buggy is a PL Comp with the standard tyres.

20psi usually does the job not to hard not to soft although u could try 15 more bouncy but at the end of the day your body will thank you. you could also just muck around till you think it is right.

I like 16 psi for my local park (grass).

But do try several presures, you may like one over the others.

For rock hard moist sand you really want the tyre up as much as printed on the side wall, as high as 30 psi!!!
Only problem is this tyre will sink like a stone in the soft sand. A tyre with low pressure in it will give you more contact area therefore a larger area to spread your weight over the soft sand, making you sink less.
Just dont run under inflated tyres at high speeds. It kills the side walls and can rip the tyre from the rim.

Just like cars match the pressure for the surface you are mostly driving on.
