I am reasonably new the world of traction kiting. I purchased a ATB and a Beamer 3.6m a few weeks ago and a buggy last week. I am looking at getting another larger kite and have been reading reviews and getting more and more confused.
I am thinking something in the vicinity of 5m and I have a limited budget. It needs to be reasonably multi-purpose but I think i will end up in the buggy more than board.
I was thinking the 5m Beamer as they are pretty cheap (compared to flexi & ozone). What are peoples thoughts?

Most people will get more use out of a smaller kite, ie 2m , than a bigger kite like a 5m.
Learn to buggy with your Beamer first, and in the mean time just look around at all the other kites on the market.
HQ are about (one month or two) to release a new kite more aimed at the ATB world, but it could still be used in a buggy. Its called the Crossfire.
From the limited info out about this kite it is a very nice and stable kite generating more power for its size than the Beamer.
This would be good as a low wind kite for most people.
I think they will be a little bit more than a Beamer in price, but still quite cheap in the world of kites.
For any one looking for a kite for ATBing this is one kite I would not pass the chance on to have a test fly if the current info is correct.
Personally I think you would get more use out of a smaller kite than a 5m.
Also, doesn't the Beamer come on lines that are 20m long???
You can increase the amount of power you get by a little bit, by getting a longer line set for it.
I would get 100 foot long or about 30m in length. The kite will not respond quite as quick, but you will be able to keep the kite in the power zone longer, more power!!! :D
I am selling my 4.9m blade if you are interested:
