Hi Guys,
Welcome to Extreme Kites and hope you enjoy the atmosphere here. Sam (Samio (http://www.extremekites.com.au/forums/member.php?u=4074)) from Kite Surf Tasmania (http://www.kitesurftasmania.com.au.tt) will be looking after this section to get you guys rolling.

New Event or New Thread ?
It's really easy... If you just want to create a topic to discuss and talk press "New Thread." If you are planning on going out flying, want others to join you etc, post "New Event." When new events are posted they are added to the top of this forum, onto the front page of the forum and into the calendar. Chances are more people will see you want someone to fly with!
Gallery
We have a Gallery (http://www.extremekites.com.au/gallery) here on Extreme Kites where people can upload their photos. Have a look at the Members Gallery (http://www.extremekites.com.au/gallery/members) to see some of the photos from other Members on the website. To upload your photos just login using the same Username and Password you use here on the forum.
First 5 Posts
We have a system here where the first 5 posts need to be approved manually. This stops all the "viagra" and "free mobile phone" spam adds from filling the forum. So don't be worried if your first 5 posts come up shortly after you post them. After 5 posts everything is normal. We do this to keep the place clean of cheap, cloned, low-purity viagra :D
Regards,
.Joel

It's awesome down here. Miles of empty beaches.
There is a buggy crew out at Stanley, the center of the kiting universe in case you didn't already know, and plenty of kiteboarders too.
Strong wind warning tomorrow, time for a 10km downwinder at Stanley!
Swwweeeeettt!!

Good stuff Samio .... if ya get the chance ... some pics would go down well :D

Yep better stop there. Ordinarily i would have been slamming it but i decided to put the lines on and fly it for once ;) but it didn't even get off the ground. Maybe i looked at it funny. Only thing under it was a tiny dead crab so what does that say?
Sounds like an awesome session!
JK
Hi boys,
No good about the V-Dub! A pink kite will do that to ya.
Can't wait to hit up d'port over the summer. Down winders from burnie to ulverstone after work

Just click on "Gallery" up the top and login using the same login you use to get on to the forum. You get an Album and you can upload your photos in there! A little arrow on the top left you click and it opens up a menu so you can create sub-albums, upload images etc.

Hi All,
Im kind of new to the kite sceen. Have flown a stun kite for a few years, but just a few weeks ago i got myself my first power kite and loving it. I generally fly it at the Cenotaph on weekends and sometimes after work.
Im looking at getting a mountain board and a bigger kite to add to the fun.
Would love to meet up with some of the more experienced fly to learn a few basic skills and tricks :D

Hey Sam,
Hope you got a kite in when you were down and good to here things are pumping up north- we have had a few good sessions here but can't wait for the really steady sea breezes to kick!!
Richard Hughes - if you read this - really good to meet/kite with you and will def drop you a line when the bells crew hit the beach next.
Hey Ando - How good is daylight savings - can't believe it was still light when I got back home on wed!!
:) Lisa
Don't get me started on Day light savings!
Hey i threw up a few snaps of Saturday at Marion Bay on the photo forum.
Hi Lee, great to hear that you picked up a new kite. Port Sorell calls for a nice stable piece of gear.
Keep it real

Hey Ando,
Wicked photo's, it makes me want to give kite surfing a go. I just need a lot more cash :yes3:
I've heard of people buggying down at Marion's, is there much hard pack sand at low tide?
Ant
I need a SLR!!! Thats on a point and shoot so half the photos were out of focus!!!
All I can say is that the sand would be hard enough to break an arm or leg.. hmmm.
I forgot about the price of my gear after I landed my first 5m boost. I think every kite boarder can agree, and the water is a lot more forgiving when you stuff up.
I recommend having a lesson and see how you go and learn properly before you buy the gear. I know Kite Republic do lessons during the summer months in Port Sorell (Devonport). Just google them. Also 2nd hand gear is the shizzle, just as long its not what the dinosaurs used to ride.

Hey Guys,
Been flying an Prisim E2 for the last few years down in Hobart. Had a micron 5 stack for a few months which has been great fun as well. Have just got my self a quad line and look forward to learning how to fly that over the next few months. Have also been flying a power kite the last few days and have really enjoyed that as well.
