I had a chat with him a little earlier & posted in Lost & Found on seabreeze for him as well, under his name there. There is a story to tell & I'll let him tell it, when Marty bins a Kite you now its serious stuff.
Hope Marty is one piece and hope the kite is picked up and returned.
Must be a good story behind this one.

Likewise, hope all is OK up there
Always bad when you loose a kite
Do tell thou, you know we all luv a good story
Just spoke to Marty he's in one piece (for the moment) and has had a bit of a swim after deciding to ditch the kite instead of attempting a crossing to New Zealand, he reckons his hip pocket is the only thing hurting at the moment.

I can just see the latest report from the news that the authorities are searching the Tasman sea for survivors, as a small bright yellow life raft was sighted in the area!!
Glad your OK mate! :D
He has already notified Police and Air Sea Rescue that he is OK if they find the kite. :D

No story yet so we will have to make up our own.
MMM lets see it's a Sonic so the Chicken loop either broke or came undone, then the leash released because you looked at it the wrong way???
Not quite .....
I made a series of bad decisions that I for 1 knew better .....
I let my head get in the way of my gut .....
I was a luck boy ....
I will post up the tale over the next few days but the long and short of it ...
I f&%^ed up

Crikies Marty. Glad to hear you are OK. Yes we are all interested in what went wrong and how we can learn from your mishap. Offshore winds? Must have been a frightening situation. Was that 19 miles offshore, I didn't know you could swim that far?;)
Ok, I'll sit back and wait for the story to unfold.
