Our Community Focus.
The purpose and aim of Extreme Kites is to bring individuals from Australia together to what is becoming the largest & friendliest kiting community in Australia. To reach our aims and aspirations we have guidelines in place and ask that as being part of our community, you respect these. The purpose of these guidelines is ensuring that everybody’s experience on Extreme Kites Australia is a pleasurable and enjoyable one. Extreme Kites is a place where we do not expect you to drop your personality at the door, rather quite the opposite. We recognise and respect what makes people individual, and as a result on many occasions there will be differences in opinion. We ask that you join this community with and open mind.

Be Welcoming!
When new members join welcome them to our growing community and help them feel like they are always welcome to ask questions and join in discussion. Many of our community’s senior members have years of experience, and a wealth of knowledge that can be unlocked and shared with new individuals to the sport. We ask that you help new members that join our community and help them get involved.

Be Courteous!
The most common guideline in our community is to be courteous to others. You are welcome to challenge the points of view and opinions of other, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully. There is a designation between a valid difference of opinion, and a personal attack. A personal attack on others is a breach of this guideline and such posts will be removed.

Be Appropriate!
There are places on the internet where explicit, obscene or vulgar language, graphics or behaviour is appropriate. However Extreme Kites is not a place where any such material or discussion is appropriate.

Off-Topic Discussion
There is a General Discussion forum. This is suited to anything off topic and not purposeful to other sections of the forum. Please do not make off-topic remarks and replies in discussions. Such comments and material will be removed. There is nothing worse then wanting to read about a new kite and by page two of the discussion you are reading about last night’s dinner. Please make your best effort to keep discussions on topic.

No Advertising / Commercial Posting
Extreme Kites is a place for members to enjoy and interact with each other away from being hindered and bantered with commercial links and offers from “fly by night” operations. There is to be no advertising of any product or service on Extreme Kites. Members with a private sale are permitted to post items in the For Sale or Wanted section on Extreme Kites.

Retailers, Distributors & Manufacturers
If you are a sponsor of Extreme Kites then you are permitted to make commercial posts in the For Sale section only. If you are not a sponsor or advertiser of Extreme Kites then you are not allowed to make any posts in the For Sale section. We believe this guideline to be quite clear. Distributors & Manufacturer’s or products are welcome to discuss and post on Extreme Kites as long as the posts contain no financial value. If you are a distributor for a product and a retailer in the country sells your product we can understand your vested interest in making information on the product available to our community. We welcome this and encourage you to do so, however all commercial posting of the product must be done by the direct Advertiser or Sponsor of Extreme Kites.

User Accounts
Users are permitted 1 account per individual. Multiple user accounts per individual are not permitted.

Private Messenger
The Extreme Kites private messenger is provided to members of Extreme Kites as a service intended to enhance the community experience. The purpose of the private messenger is to allow of discreet conversations to take place between members. This privilege is not to be abused! Solicitation, spamming or harassment of any kind is strictly forbidden. Any member receiving an inappropriate private message should forward that message to an Administrator or Moderator right away. Whilst private messages are used for private conversation between members, they are part of the Extreme Kites database where they are stored and as such the property of Extreme Kites. As such an Administrator, if so inclined does have the ability to extract these messages from the database. Whilst private messages are private, they are not necessarily secret as they are stored in the same database as all other content, reviews, posts and discussions on Extreme Kites. Private Messages are not intended to deprive the Community of valuable information or experiences which could benefit the entire group. Please do not use private messages if the content of the message can be helpful to others. The private messenger is not to be used to harvest and request email addresses of members. We provide all required facilities for communication to take place including the sending of photos and attachments. If you are not an Extreme Kites sponsor you are not permitted to use the Private Messenger for commercial purposes.

Signatures & Avatars
Personal signatures are permitted in Text form only, containing a maximum of 3 lines. No images or commercial links are permitted in Signatures. Extreme Kites runs larger then standard Avatars, you may make creative use of these. Sponsors and Advertisers of Extreme Kites are permitted one commercial link.

Copyrighted Material
Please do not post copyrighted material on Extreme Kites. Only post content that is owned by you or you have permission to submit. Under Fair Use provisions you can legally post a small abstract of an article. So if you want to post an article you should do this and include a link. The exception to this rule is press releases; press releases are meant for distribution and can be copied and distributed as much as you want. If you are not sure if you can copy something then always err on the side of caution and simply post a link to the material.

No SPAM!

Liability
Extreme Kites will not be liable for any damage to yourself, equipment, 3rd party or entity that arises from any actions or activities based on the content from this website. We do not warrant any information to be accurate and do not condone actions and content featured on this website. Should any incident arise as of your actions they are solely your own responsibility and liability. Any action you take or involve yourself with is done at your own risk with the full knowledge that there are dangers beyond your awareness. However you continue to make a clear decision to proceed with such actions on your own behalf. We encourage all individuals with Income Protection, any type of Private Medical cover or similar insurance to contact their issuer to gain a full understanding of the cover provided when partaking in such activities.

Extreme Kites Discretion
Extreme Kites and its assigned agents reserve the right to remove any content which they deem unsuitable. These decisions are final and are not to be discussed in public. Should you have a disagreement with a decision you are to contact an Administrator via the Private Messenger or Email. In addition Extreme Kites reserves the right to organize discussion forums in order to best suit the majority of our members. For example, narrow-interest or minimal activity topics may be relocated or merged to a more appropriate area. Considering the real-time nature of Extreme Kites it is impossible for Extreme Kites to review all content and validate all information published. Therefore we do not vouch, support or endorse any content found on this website. All content submitted to Extreme Kites is optioned to be the views and opinions of those authors and not the view of Extreme Kites.

Use of this service is at the discretion of the Administration of Extreme Kites, and that use may be terminated by the Administration at any time.
