    The Video with outtakes

First 30 odd seconds no volume for dramatic effect

Do not adjust your volume you'll end up with a heart attack!

    Project 5 (knots)

Well the wind chart says it all & the paragliders falling out of the sky on the hill top told us as much (sure they were ok, long walk back up though)

    Image

    Rubbish!

We were 3 hundred meters inland from the water, we could see about 8 knots were lucky to get 5 most of the time. It switched from SE to ENE evident in the trailer from the two directions we were travelling through the day.

Dave got his hands on the 21 today (I don't hand that kite to anybody its way to Cyclone Tracy) he realised how problematic the float is (its surely a design fault) when he jumped over his 15m and continued floating downwind to land on top of the kite buggy, collected that, took out the camera bag and swore (left in for dramatic effects). I think he likes it! :D

A clip grabbing the 21m with both hands and reefing the bar mid air for a downloop commit commit commit and go the full darwin. :blind:

I swore never to get on a land board again, last clip, downlooping the 21m Speed 3 (check the hover) I was so stoked forgot what I was doing and………. :wall2:

Rubbish wind. 21m saved the day.

Few screen grabs, will sort the video out soon.

Bugger ME, What a kite
Lift float and soft landing's(as long as you don't land on a buggy :o )
Luke you better watch out cause I can't afford one but will steal yours every time you put the bar on the ground Now :good:
As you can see from the wind graph we had bugger all wind and after the 1st hour we were there it dropped so much my 15m Speed2 wouldn't even stay in the air, that 21m really saved the day for us :clapping: , with paraglider's dropping out of the sky we were still able to boost big enough to jump the 15m(lying on the ground) and keep going for another 4 hours
That kite is a :diablo: BEAST :diablo:
Bar pressure so lite you can easily pull 1 handed redirects no probs :crazypilot:
Ridiculous LIFT it's like being on a rollercoaster :goplay: , you just don't know how high your going to go. For less than 10knts of really swinging wind we were still able to boost anywhere from 1ft up to 20ft of the deck(Luke was looking over the palm trees at one point).
    I'm in LUST with the 21m Speed3
That kite is so user friendly and manageable for such a huge Canopy, it really is a dream to fly :air_kiss: . Crank on the bar and it turns pretty much on a wing tip, redirect to the zenith and pull it in and your up up and away with the fairies. It's going to be so hard going back to my speed2's after today, I want a Speed3 21m!!!
I've flown the Speed3 12m and 15m and the 21 performs just as well, turns pretty much as quick, same ridiculous depower range and just so easy to fly........
I really don't think Luke understands what today has done to me :blind: , I'm corrupted for sure!
Can't wait for the next session :wall:

Another great exploration into exploring the boundries of light wind kiting lads. That 21 looks so well behaved
Great to see yer taking the piss just as much as your taking the risks.

I'd swear I've seen Luke do all manner of crazy stuff with a kite but until he got the 21m Speed3 I'd never seen him consistently :crazypilot: Kite Downlooping........

From looking at the out takes looks like there may have been a few bruises and scrapes after that session. :derisive:

Wahoo ... :clapping: ... all that action in only 5 knots..

    Go Luke...Go Dave.. :agree:

Watching that sure got me itching for the weekend and some flytime....great stuff fellas...

Seeing how confident you are in that kite Luke, flying it above the trees (1.56) in that little wind :hatsoff: to you and the kite.

Half way through watching it I thought "wouldn't it be good to get one of those 21's for the low wind days" then I remembered where I live and thought again..."I love my 12mt for down here and when I get up to visit Luke next time I hope the wind is low enough for me to have a go on his 21".... :D ....

Andy...hoping to see you both soon... :friends: :drinks:

I just got informed that Luke now love's that kite more than he does AJ (Apparently from AJ) so mate you'll have to steal it just like me :blackeye: , sorry to be the bearer of bad news but hey if you ask AJ she might talk him round to win him back :clapping: , I mean you wouldn't share your better half, but sharing a kite that give's you a WOODY
    I WOULDN'T :crazypilot:
Rather you took the Missus instead :blackeye: , Hence I'm single :air_kiss: .....
Your always more than welcome to come by for a fly or :drinks: MR FLY!

Dave was on the 15m for about 15 minutes when we first got there, we had about 8 knots from the SE, 8 knots does not sound a lot except when you have 21m of kite, then it makes for a great session.

The wind died off after about 25 minutes, to the point the 21 was barely staying in the air. the footage was shot over a 6 hour period, with lots of down time when the wind dropped out to zero.

North Head wind readings are 30 meters above sea level and about 10km south of us, we are also 300 meters inland from the coast, over the years we have noticed that what is on the water is not what we are getting, unless it is stronger then it seems to break through over the land, this happens at about 12-14 knots.

As Joel mentioned it seems to create its own wind, the advantage we have, which is also a disadvantage is we are on a slight slope, it is difficult in extremely light wind to get up the hill, but on the way down it can turn 5 knots into 8 knots through momentum, the problem is as you can see in the video some of the landings were not ride away because the wind was just not there to carry any forward momentum

We still got flying and made the most of it.

With that said 8-10 knots on that kite is a jump into the unknown, compared to small Speed 3's like 15's the 21 has a massive amount of lift, its more like an elevator you keep going up and up , yes it feels good but you have to keep your wits about you and initiate top loops and down loops to get down & keep it above you, the kite would be a lot less work in 12 knots +, the first time I put it up a few months back it was about 12 knots, and did not need to down loop it, but this also made for 40+ meter downwind landings, since then when I had the time to get out the wind has been rubbish, we have flown in crap all summer.

I've never regularly had to loop the 15m no matter what the wind, the 21m on the other hand, its becoming quite standard.

Andy if the wind is very light by all means have a go, Dave is aware (having seen some of the massive lifts I have had) that this kite is to be given lots of respect even in light wind.

Like all the Speed 3's the wind range increases once you feel comfortable on the kite, same with the 21, except with the size of our local the cut off point is the size of downwind room, well before what I'll happily put it up in.

The most fascinating kite I have flown, my addiction!
