    Hi guys

Just moved to Brisbane from the uk. My buggy and race kites should arrive soon. Just wondering if I can use them anywhere near by?

Also is there a race scene in Australia?

And do I need any kind of PI insurance?

Spittle ...... it's the begining of the end :D

We don't really have a race scene here .... but we have a pretty good little group of nutters.

    Keep your eye on these.

Nice one, so I can use those sites without upsetting anyone? And do you need insurance?

I'd be keen to meet some like minded people when my kit turns up…

If you don't hit anyone/anything, you don't need insurance.
A membership with http://qldkiteflyerssociety.com.au/ gives you insurance. But I'm not sure if you're covered if you are racing.

Bribie is good, as long as you don't go north of the 4wd track on the east side of the island (about 1.7km north of the north most carpark). The ranger will escort you back if you do.

You can do whatever you like at murrarie. Occasionally there will be a game of cricket on one side of the oval using up a bit of space.

It's hard to see on the map exactly where you can buggy, how much beach do you have?

Bribie is very tight .... a lot of places you have to fly over trees ... but you get used to it :derisive:

Depending on the wind direction we have 3 main areas we hit.

Get yourself another 2 posts and we can PM ya the secret mens business ... lol

The yellow lines are the usual spots.

2km on the northern beach "Bunkers".
A total of about 6km on the southern end. "Skirmish Point" on the east, and "Red Beach" on the West. How much is actually usable depends on the wind.

The south side is an off-leash dogwalking beach, and the north side is on-leash. Width is usually 20m-40m (at low tide of course).

    Forget QLD Spittle,

NSW have the best spots around :yes3:

No1. Stockton - 32kms of beach and the best dunes in Oz

No2. 7 Mile Beach - About 13kms of beautiful prestine beach

Only thing Qld thinks there footy conquests makes them the better guys :P
In NSW we're just spread out over a distance from Stockton to 7 Mile and beyond

Ahh .... The sweet sweet sounds of envy.

We have little dunes ... Is just that you need a boat to get there.

We have huge beaches .... It's just that bribie is closest. :upyours:

    But the footy ! Lol
    You got nothing

hey mate... good to know there is another pom onboard to keep the inmates under control

you need to keep an eye on here, when the wind looks promising then this is where we post to arrange meets

Dont worry about waiting for your gear, we have kites-n-buggys to spare.... even a few that we dont mind too much of you fly into bribies trees (aint that right marty :diablo: ) ..... but truth be known, its preferable for you to fly your own kites into the trees....Im perfectly capable of flying my own kites into them myself.

    btw what part of brissy?

Beach is ok .... provided you don't get run over by ignorant 4wders but you don't go there for the beach, it's behind the beach :yes3: Sand Dune Wonderland

    Dunes ...... Mmmmmmmmmm
