with my Kites and Kids programe i use and sell the HQ Symphony Beach 1.2m at under $40 from briskites for a new kite you cant go wrong.
there are two sizes, and getting both, as a quiver, for under $100 is a steal.http://www.briskites.com.au/index.php?l ... tail&p=271
for something with more expence buyt better at handleing the bangs and bumps is the HQ Rush III also at briskites is on a bar, with a third line for safety, at under $180 its a bargain.
the kite is almost indistructable, watch the videohttp://www.briskites.com.au/index.php?l ... tail&p=293
Kitepower sell the Ozone Imps, they are also a great kite for the young ones. available in 2 and 4 line options, and even a 3 line trainer on a bar.
they start at about $130 and have proven them selfs over time.
i find that some young kids just cant handle a 4 line kite to learn with, but that all depends on their age and ability.
