Unfortunately I only stuck to it for some months and packed my gear up after a spectacular crash in a hedge while launching my kite in far too strong winds trying to show off for my mates back in Sweden. (Lesson learned: take professional lessons, know your limitations and if you’re not a Swedish resident healthcare is ****ing expensive!).

So that’s a bit about me. Cheers for a good forum!

    Welcome Johan,

Nice to see some more Venom II users + landboard. I use my Venom II 13m^2 for both landboarding and kitesurfing. Don't just love those OBEs!

    Hey all,

I am David from Hobart TAS.

I am looking at getting into stunt kites, with previous experience only with cheap two sting kites, I have jumped in the deeper end by purchasing a Deepspace as the price at present is a bit hard to pass up. I have mede contact already with the TAS crew who are pretty awesome guys and I look forward to many a breezy day to catch up with them and work on my tricks.

    Cheers

Hi my name is carl and i am an alcoholic
i have been legally drinking for 2 days no......woops wrong website

ok i have been land kiting since july 2008, starting on a 4m PKD Buster II and a kheo land board
i have been riding on the water since september 2008 -9m F-One Bandit - 10.5 Core Combat GT

i do every board sport or have done except surfing i am still trying too.

i am a wakeboarder at heart and my kiting reflects that and riding a wake board + bindings is a slight give away.

Me, Nigel, no funny alias' here.
Single, and on the prowl too.
    33, 165cm (5'5), 65kg.
Make go fast parts for Yella Terra.
Been kiteing since 1988, but yes only the two string ones...till. (Did get a Rev in 92 though!)
    1998, found power kites!!!!
Got a buggy the next year and havn't been out of one since.
Tried the water in late 2000, with a PL Water foil, and Picklefork board.
Got up first go, no lessons, did it twice more and found it not to be that challenging. Not really a water baby, so the buggy had more pull.
The standard of the kitesurfing picked very quickly since my first dip, but the water has not excited me too much. Not enough to get me back in, but I might still make it one day.
Tried the ATB boards, different, but don't like the speed wobbles, if you see a dirtsurfer going cheap let me know!

Flown a fair number of kites, and can claim to be able to help on most topics, or point you in the right dirrection.

Alex that post is a bit out of date Nigel has been taken for some time - you musn't have been to Melbourne kiting for at least 6 months.

To give you some idea Nigel would have answered your post but for two reasons:
    1. I'm using the computer (Yes Joel it's a Mac)
    2. Nigel is doing the washing up :D

    I'm slowly training him :D:D:D:eek:

In return Nigel is teaching me to fly kite but sadly no wind today:nigel:

    Hi Wolfie and all!,
My name is Marcin and I regularly read the forum for a couple of months. Around 35 years old, originally come from Poland, where the sea is really freezing. That's why water is never too cold for me here, I swim in the ocean all year round. :D
Have been in Australia for 3.5 years.
Have been into kitesurfing for 6 years, started when realized carrying windsurfing gear was too tiring for me ;)
There were ups and downs, got bored kitesurfing on flat water in the Baltic sea (not really into tricks), but discovered waves in Australia and back to the sport with new spirit.
Recently got some interest in landboarding, trying to get my 8-years old son Peter into the sport to spend time together and I like it. The only concern now is whether to kite on land or on the water when the summer comes.
Fly Monkey Griffin and Ozone Cult kites.
    Work as an electronics engineer.
    Cheers,
    Marcin

Hi all, is my pleasure to meet you .

Glenn, 21 with 34 years experience, dad of 4 sons, now single, have my batchelor pad in Lithgow NSW. Old boardsailor got bored, bought cheapo ebay power kite flew it in all wind strengths. Became single, cashed up and the kite bug kicked in, have an array of kites, HQ Symphony 1.7, HQ rush 2m, HQ Scout 4m, Flexifoil bullett 4.5, Flexifoil blade 4.5,And Eolo Evo 8, a Psycho land board and very soon a PL Mk1 buggy .

Tend to fly on one of the local sports fields, depending on wind strength and direction, (this caper has turned me into a hardcore tree and flag watcher) can be a pain as sometimes get weird wind gusts, have been pounded afew times ( must remember my kneelos) but generally have a good time.

My addiction was bad enough for me to warrant a holiday with the main aim of kitesurfing lessons, which was last week. What a blast, was the biggest learning week that I had encountered in a long time. Must recommend Padi and crew from Surfconnect at Sandgate, very friendly, ultra professional. Had very good sleeps only saw 10 oclock once and that was a night at the pub with my instuctors, but paid for it next day, hangovers kite lessons and getting pounded in crashes which happened heaps, have that bad learner attribute of sheeting on too far and powering kite up too much.
While there picked up heaps on things KITE, had my first run ever on a buggy, am hooked now. :crazypilot:

Well well well, found a box buried deep in the backyard and when I blew the dust off, opened it I found this thread. Awesome!

Well I haven't posted in here for a while and I couldn't be bothered reading my own stories so I will give you all a re hash and inspire those that haven't got into this thread to do so.

Now 31 been kiting for 6 years now, could be longer but to be honest I really don't remember the year it all began....Yes I was in my mid 20's so I know you will all forgive me. I am on the Central Coast of NSW. Grew up here although have only been back on the Central Coast for 3 years after spending 10 years in Western Sydney where I learnt to fly. Started kiting as I craved sailing and with no where to sail I was left to look for options. I came across kiting. My first real kite was a 4m Crossfire, moved on to a set of Blade IV's and now still fly my Blades along with a 10m Manta and a 6m Access (for light winds). Spent a lot of years in my trusty old modified PL doing all sorts but now seem to spend much more time in my Bigfooted Vmax2 hitting the dunes up on Stockton or belting up and down one of my local beaches. After flying for around 2 years I was approached by KitePower Sydney and offered sponsorship to which I gladly accepted. Sponsorship has been awesome for me as it has enabled me my mates and people I fly with to get our hands on the latest gear to play with. Along with EK's my sponsorship has given me the tools to arrange meets (Mayday and Kitetober) that have become quite successful and still continue. Kiting Controversy has followed me somewhat over the years but hey you can't please everyone :good:
I am married and have 2 wonderful kids, my young bloke now 8 been flying since he was 3 is nearly heavy enough to safely handle something that will pull him along...Looking forward to showing him how sand tastes ;) My wife used to fly a lot until she became pregnant with out second, she is just starting to get keen for it again. I work full time as a senior technician for a popular gaming company which keeps me off the beach more often that I would like.
Well with what I have already written in previous posts that just about keeps it up to date :D
