    Hey pple!

I saw some articles on riding finless. to ride finless do you need a specially designed board or it can be done with anyboard without their fins?

    Cheers,

Just unscrew the fins off your normal board.
You may find you end up with some water jets shooting through the screw holes though... so if your contemplating keeping it finless in the long term you may want to tape over the top of the board and/or wax fill from the underside.

You shouldn't have much of a problem riding fin less on any kiteboard. Bear in mind that the board become quite skatey until you lock in your edge.

No fins, twisted lines (looped) and a nice railey. I think it's the dreads that give him his kiting skills. ;)
That looks like a helluva good session!

    Nice photo too! :D

a lot of our kiting spots are very shallow ,so they get in the way.
after a bit one adapts to a finless board ,now i finded it hard to use a board with fins ....oh well. :good:

I went finless on Lee's 132, in really shallow water it's super easy. And if the sand bars in between water channels are dry then that's no problem either :D The feeling is different, it feels more skatey, and you need to ride your front foot more for control, opposed to just putting pressure on the back foot. It's a bit like riding one of those wiggle boards. On transitions they were super easy due to no locked in feel, you could just wash the board out however you wanted and keep riding.

One thing I also noticed, at speed there was far less pressure on your back leg when not having any fins on.

    Regards,
