Hay all i still cant apply yet to early but soon as i can im going to try get a job being a snow maker or scrubing toilets at a resort just want to learn how to snowboard so i can get into this snowkite thing. Any resorts you can reccomend or not reccomend. Looks like perishers the largest in southern hemisphere so maybe easyiest to get a job. And theres a heap of great ones in NZ but anyways anyone got any experiences with this? I cant imagine any of the aussie ones are anygood for snowkiteing. I really doubt im man enough to do 12 hr night shifts makeing snow but only one way to find out. The 25% off equipment from the resort shops is it better if i just buy my gear online regardless? (clothing boards etc) looks like some places in nz only want to give you 13$ an hour are the australian resorts forced to pay you minimum wage i think thats around 20$ these days. Anyways cheers for any help. Sorry if this seems like deja vu hahaha i get a little over excited and make plans (norway is next hahaha i ive only seen snow once while hiking)
If you get a job in NZ or more specifically Queenstown you have access to 4+ resorts on your doorstep. Net to mention a much better chance of the local park being snowed in! No chance of that in oz.
Queenstown is definitely a good option for choice of resorts, and there is a place near cardrona called snow farm which is pretty much a giant field of snow perfect for snow kiting, HOWEVER the nz fields don't pay as well as the aus fields, (so i have herd)
