I've been drooling over the Apex III for too long (and forcing myself to practice with a Scout II 3m).
Now the only remaining dilema: size.
I'm primarily keen for snowkiting, and since I'm moving up to Sydney later next month, probably mostly on the Main Range. I'm both an intermediate-advanced downhill snowboarder and an intermediate cross country skiier. I've had the Scout out on the snow a couple of times, but having not made it up to the high plains this season, didn't get much of a ride. My feeling from playing in the park with the Scout is that I probably want something a fair bit bigger than the 3m Scout (and I'll always have it for those really windy days).
All the research I've done suggests that I should go for the Apex III 7.5m. Probably will best span the likely conditions on the main range for skiing. But I wanted to see if the group knowledge had any other advice. (Having just read a suggestion for a 10m kite for landboarding...)
Basics: I'm 60kg, fairly athletic, and have been flying my Scout about 4 months (probably averaging every other week to every week). I'm happy with it in fairly gusty wind (although I can see the advantage of a sheetable), and have probably flown it up to 20 kts (I need to get a wind meter, too!).
