Interesting about the NASA kites in the wet.........

Wind is holding for the weekend, but a little damp for Saturday, better wind on Sunday, but I'm busy then.

My intent at the moment is to be there 8 am Saturday, just have to put up with the odd shower and such. Head home 3 pm Saturday.

I don't think I would be able to make it early on Saturday. Could do Sunday, but 8hrs driving for one session...... maybe Truganina/President's or 13th Beach on the Sunday if the tide is low enough..

I'm very tempted for a buggy on either day, but Sunday is looking the pick so far.

So count me in for a Sandy Point run. :D

12.42pm low tide means a lot of buggying!!

Send us a beach report, Clive! If forecast holds, I'll make tracks down Saturday arvo and spend Sat/Sun eve at the Waratah Bay Caravan Park.

Change of plans, wind is a bit WNW for sandy tommorrow morning, going to head for another beach with a better west aspect, most likely powlet river just south of kilkunda where the wind farm is.
Can't buggy as long but it's about 1.5 hrs away so is an easy trip, plus it's likely to be wet, so can duck off if it gets nasty.

Have fun guys, would be good to have seen Nigel and chris racing up the beach in 30 knot winds together.

Don't forget the video John :popcorm1:

Yep, forecast looks pretty reasonable for Sunday/Monday. With a low tide around 1pm ish, I might even head down Sunday morning looking to be ready to go around 11am. It's not a very low tide so I would be surprised if there was usable beach much before that. Mark, you gonna sleep in the van around at the inlet on Sunday night? Cris may be there for Sunday/Monday too. A day trip for Nigel? JohhnyG, what are your plans?

    30 knots!!! sounds good! :clapping:
Mmmm that's 10m Scorpion (or the 7m if it's nuking) weather, will have the whip out to keep it in control.

See you all just before 11am then at the car park. :good:

Say what? Where did you find that forecast? Everything I've looked at says 15-21 knots....

Should be there by 11am also.

Edit: Ah...the coastal wind warning...rising to 30knots Sunday afternoon. Could be interesting......

Wind has backed of a bit, willy has up to 15 nominal guru has 18, don't think you will see 30 now.

    Direction SW erly

Light drizzle to be expected from time to time according to the radar.

    Have fun.

Pretty good day today - 14-22 knots. With fast downwind runs out to the point and slow upwind coming back. The occasional shower but stayed dry. Mark, cris and myself staying at inlet tonight for a run tomorrow.

    Yeh what a run!! :clapping:

That was some good speed to blow the cob webs out.
Wind in the gusts I think hit 25knots down at the point, and that means we (Chris and myself) hit mid 70's, maybe a little more?
Chris' kite had a bit of a lie down at one point (Chris shouldn't pull the quick release :o ).
John trundled along with his small kites (could have lent you a nice 7m Scorpion john? :fear: ).
Boarders were represented, with Bakersdozen learning to carve the sand. :dance4:

We were also joined by two mobile speed humps, sorry blokarts, but they stayed well away.

So it was a very good day had by all.
To those who missed it :P
