We took two buggies down to Goolwa (S.A.) and camped at the mouth last weekend. We all had a great time but unfortunately it appears my 2nd buggy (the PL buggy with the BigFoot on the front and highway tyres on the back) was pinched ):

I left it in the dunes where we'd camped while I flew the Zebra back to the car park but when we came back to collect it, it was gone! I had a good look and you could see tyre marks where it had been walked up the small dune by where we'd camped and ridden back down a couple of times, then the tracks lead to the path into the camp and mysteriously vanish. It definitely appears as though some kids had been playing with it, then it was loaded into the back of a car and taken. We spent a lot of time looking around for it and asked all the cars around if they'd seen anything. One family said they saw a dark red older model HyLux or something parked over there with some people playing with it over at the sand hill. I then pointed out our Jeep thinking it may have been our car they saw. They said the car they saw was a similar colour but that it defiantly wasn't a Jeep. They also saw it when our car would have been down the other end of the beach, so I dare say they were the culprits! Unfortunately the family didn't take much notice at the time and other than the colour couldn't remember much about the vehicle at all. We then spent a lot of time hunting down dark red 4x4's but alas it was not to turn up.

Anyway, it's unlikely that I'll ever get it back now but thought I'd post here in case anyone sees anything.
The buggy was a PL Mk-I with a newer seat, BigFoot front tyre but had "barrow sized" highway wheels on the back. It's a funny looking bug and wasn't very nice to ride but was fine as a trailer and was great fun for towing.

    All the best,
    Slarti.

Sad news. Rotten little buggers for stealing it. Have you considered contacting the police, perhaps that car is familiar to them, ie known offenders?

Unfortunately I don't really have any good photos of the bug in question but it is very distinctive on account of having one BigFoot on the front and 'highway rated' wheels (and tyres) on the back. The 'highway rated' wheels happen to be very similar in size and shape to standard 'barrows'.

Here's a photo posted by Mick in this thread which was snapped shortly before it was stolen and is the last known location of the bug :cray:Image

If you zoom in on the circle you can clearly see it is the bug but can't really identify much:

And here are another couple of images I have but it's hard to see much detail in them either:

I have also reported it to the Goolwa Police Station and I trawl eBay and GumTree fairly regularly so hopefully if they try to sell it I'll spot it but I suspect whoever took it wouldn't even know what it is so is unlikely to sell it as a "Kite Buggy".

Fortunately it was only my second bug and as anyone following the Sysmic Update thread knows I've been planning to get an S1 as soon as they land, but it's still quite the pisser ):
