Ok ive read quite a few guides on how to get starting on my skates - and now im abit confused :dontknow:

So when i start sit back against the wind. Kite laying at a 45 degree angel to the wind direction. Wich way should the skates point? Straight down win direction or at a 90 degree angel to the wind direction?

Ive made kinda rouch drawing to show what i mean :)

Wich would be right - the green or the blue line?

    Hi M,
its the Blue line that is the right way, thats the direction you should be heading in. You should have the kite always facing down wind, and you should be taveling 90 degrees from that, again which ever direction the wind is blowing the kite should be down wind, (unless you whant to go up wind, which means you go slightly into the wnd direction.)
If you were to travel down wind it would be very difficult to keep the kite in the air with out looping or doing figure 8 with the kite, and then you have the problem of getting back up to the place you started from to do it again.

    Great idea M,
get her involved, then she'll understand why you get so exited about kiting, and she'll let you go more often.

And now for my Quote for the day. "Couples who fly together, stay together". :yes3:

Yep, Im harnessed in, you have to be with a depower kite, (I'll ad a close up photo at the end for you)
and it also a good idea for fixed bridal kites, as you cant hold on to the handles for to long during a long kiting session.

BUT, as you are still just finding your feet with kite skating, its good to know if you get into any trouble you can just let go of the handels, with kite killers on though.

    Ahh ok great ;)

The reason I'm asking, I found a nice offer on the imp for my wife, a chickenloop came along with the imp for around 35usd...

However I don't plan on using it before I've gotten a solid grip on the kite while on the skikes ;)

Thx alot for all the help so far - I'm quite certain it won't be my last question ;)

Oh well seems im out of luck - the two places ive ordered the imp for my wife dosnt have it in stock (I hate when they dont update their webshop :diablo: )

So i went out to try my skikes for the first time yesterday - sadly there was only 2-3ms - so i kinda stood quite firm on the ground, however it seems the skikes arend the best for kiting on sand, they kinda carved alot into the sand :dontknow: :diablo:

Oh and i just bought a scrub full face helmet kinda cheap (around 61 AIUD) - so hoping it will come shortly... I guess ive got allmost all the padding i need - though i could need some decent kneepads ^^

Its been a while since my last update :)

Well i was out in around 8ms with my skikes - but sadly they do carve too much into the sand. Wich makes them kinda useless on beaches :(

So i bought a mountain board (Scrub akashi) - mainly to use the rims, tyres and wheels on a pair of selfmade doomwheels :)
It was cheeper to buy this than buying it seperatly :)

So right now im just getting some fun out of mountainboarding - ill be making my doomwheels later this winter :)

My very first time out on the board in decent wind :good:

    Hi Spartan

    Well sadly no :(

I didn't come to a point where I felt I was in control rather than the kite, and nit being able to power slide to slow down is a bummer coming from landboarding.

But on the positive side I might take it up again, though i need to look into another lighter setup than my steel rails :D

Yup still going strong on with surfing and landboarding, and given the winter here in Denmark also on skies and a modified landboard used on ice ;)
