Courtesy of Alex Sanz on the Camera.

All of you Dudes should give him the credit he deserves.
He is a damn good instructor ( I have observed 5 of his lessons) and he is full of life.

Anyway Wanda's patch of grass was a good place to be on that day and I had a few good runs.

By the way this is my HQ Crossfire 6.3 which just came out of the washing machine and had a spray of sillicone. I don't care what people say, but a clean kite last longer than a dirty one. This one has 350 hours and 6 washes (front loader on delicate cold !!!)

Nice vid there guys, you were getting some good speeds up there Patrice :good:

What wind were you flying in, you looked pretty powered :D

I've been doing a bit of light wind skating with my 6.5m Crossfire 2 around home, they are definitely a great kite for it :)

    Wooooohooooooo

Good goin Patrice, looks like you had a great time with all the run lines in the grass

and 'Yes" people should cut Alex some slack he's a 'genuine positive' chap for the sport
but he has to learn to stop the attacks on people too.

Hope to caught you next time at Wanda or 7 Mile

yes it does look like your enjoying what you are doing, and thats a neat location too.

i'd love to have a nice grassy location, that was kept mowed nice and short, to play on

i can see why you support alex too, with your total lack of safety gear, not even a helmet.

but hay, thats purely your choice.

its just a pitty that when newbies watch any video with the 'kitesports' stamp, the lack of protective equipment stands out like a sore thumb.

nice reverse landing, right next to that tap or what ever it was. and when you fell over at about 0:39 you looked very close to those powerlines and the road. what would happen if you had to let go of the kite?

but its all good when you walk away to play another day. :good:

C'mon Peter ..... he did have a hat on .... and sunnines and gloves. So ya can's say 'total lack' :on_the_quiet2:

Looked like a windy day .... and a nice spot !
Shame about that niggling noise in the background though :fool:

yeah marty, i took the hat into account, and i had the sound turned off so i didnt here that annoying noise (pmsl)

if the grass is more than 2 inches long, a hat is all you need. what was i thinking?????

maybe about the thousands of people who would have been without power when his kite gets caught on those power lines, or the poor lady, driving her kids home from school who gets a kite over her windscreen, cant see, and plows into a buss stop with 25 kids waiting for a bus.

but hay, thats all ok, as he probly has adiquate insurance (yeah right), just like alex.

oh, stop marty, its sunday, and we are not allowed to have fun on sundays.
and your stopping me packing my gear and hitting the latest cyclone.

    Thanks for your kind reply
You use your full protection gear as I have seen in your videos and that's how you feel comfortable doing your sport.
You have not made any comment like the others (much apreciated)

Spartan ! I think I like real estate agents after all !!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    For the others:

What I do on my skates is called freedom. Some do it with a helmet and some don't.
I don't decapitate grannies with my lines and start 2012 doomsday.
Funny thing though... when I am on the water with that same kite, I wear a life jacket.
I have never seen any kite surfer wear one...

In 7 years, the only protective gear I wish I had is some impact pants and wrist protection.

I also think this is one of my last posts in this forum.... not sure I want to share
And one thing is for sure, I don't want my local parks to fill-up with young wankers who will attract the rangers and cause the councils to create new laws and rules to segregate us to our front lawn patch.

It's cool to meet other kiters but I think the less we are, the better it is. And believe me I speak from experience after seeing what I saw in Europe at the snow and at the ocean where there are 300 kiters in a 1KM square area at the time... I prefer the Australian desert.
Kind regards to you all and ponder on the concept of freedom (without impacting on your peers)

    Hey Patrice,
I dont think the guys were directing the comments at you personally,
its more towards Alex because he's the one who keeps on about not needing helmets when he's teaching kids.

Just keep doing your thing with your kiteskating mate.
If you can get some one to hold up a camera for you, It would be good to see your kiting progress on the forum.
It looks like you and I are the only ones kite skating in Australia.

Luke has hung up his boots, and Blackant has taken up kitesurfing ... :cray:

Not trying to gang up on you Patrice,

But Peter is right, you should be wearing a helmet. Peter was doing the responsible thing, to let the newbies know what should be worn so they do not get the wrong idea. I both landboard and kite surf, I use a helmet for both sports (the same helmet). Actually the message seems to be getting through, I see more helmets being worn at my local kite surfing spot.

Hurtling along at 40 to 45 km/hr on water or land (as I do) and coming off without some head protection is nuts, sorry but just can't put it any other way.

Hope you stick around on the EK.

And Norman I thoroughly agree with you on ur stance on safety and having had a certain amount of interaction with you I know that if you were to impart any advice to anyone regarding safety you would do it in an impartial, helpful, non condescending way, unlike the arrogant, opiniated, hypocritical, up their own bottom way that has happened on here (I know Zach may read this so I am trying to keep the rage down and keep it clean! :D )
As far as I am aware Peter has never met Alex, has bever flown a kite at Cronulla and therefore knows nothing of the landscape, and has never met Patrice. Even if all of those things are wrong there is absolutely no need to come across in the way that he did and make a personal attack on someone because he has met Alex and has had the politeness to talk to the guy for a few minutes, even if he is veiling it behind the argument of safety
I also think if you want to throw stones it should be done when you are wearing a helmet in ur own picture!!!!!

As far as I am concerned Patrice has every reason to take his toys, comments and vids elsewhere after being treated as he has I know a couple of guys very well that have met Patrice and had nothing but very good things to say about the guy so to be attacked in the way he has is just chilidish and pathetic
i didn't know Peter was the reincarnation of any kiting god

    Zach avert ur eyes

I astand by my earlier hypothesis
