well out the beach at Bribie today jas unfurled the apex III 5m2 by HQ and said here wolfie have a run and see what ya think well already knew about the Apex iv already had a play with the mkII 7.5 and found it to be a nice stable kite well in the 15 to 20 i think we had to day it was a pleasure to fly even tho i was fully powered with it the whole time as wind droped off ( i did get a top speed of 63.8 kmph a new pb for me ) on the 7.5 montana i think !!. I thought but after looking at the time it was with the 7 but back to the Apex the build quality has stayed pretty much the same BUT the big difference is in shape and profile with new speed pully system and bar and chicken loop this model turned faster than the old mkII and seemed a lot more stable take of and landing was nice and easy too real smooth it also seemed to build speed but unlike the montanas you could not feel the gusts as much or the acceleration the same as the montana but the power build up was smoother and still evident but not as aggresive as the montana its like say the apex is a touring car and the montana is a V8 supercar, it is a great first step for land board or snow as it is intended for but adjusts well to the buggy too i would have liked another 10 to 15 knts of wind and maybe a lot more time to feel it out more for this very nice kite and most people will enjoy flying it I think . they now go from a 3m2 to 10 m2 where as before it was 5m2 to 10m2 so an extra size ,Im enjoying flying depower at the moment with what little time we have had as because of shit conditions and all but when i get more of a chance (thats if i do plz jas ) to fly the 5m2 apex III i'll write a bit more till then have a blast
regards wolfie
)
but i did not think that of the 5m2 mate it seemed fine to me , And remember the cost factor so if its to be BETTER then cost goes up simple eh !!
