Moose meet is one of the oldest if not THE oldest traction kiting meets in the world.

it is truely epic. epic doesn't describe it.

drive up a beach for 50km camp in sand dunes kite until you bleed then kite some more..... the sun goes down who cares keep on kiting.

you Aus blokes should jump the gap and come. bet yourd be able to get a flight over for bugger all. bring a few kites and a sleeping bag someone will pick you up from the airport and drive you up the beach. several of the blokes take multiple buggies and boards so scam a ride.

Craig hansen manages to fly up from chch (just as expensive as coming from aus) and magically fits his big foot buggy into his luggage somehow!

don't think about it do it.

This is a nice smooth salt surface at Lake Lefroy at Kambalda West Aust. 300kms to my north.
This was taken 2kms out on the causway of the old salt ponds looking back to the shore.
There is 550 square kilometers of dead flat playground. The lake is soft enough that vehicles usally stay off it.
I didn't get much of a buggy as the wind didn't cooperate. It is really hard on tyres.
    They howl like circular saws.
I had bigfoots on and as you accelerate it sounds like a V8 car taking off.

Just thought I'd throw that in as a complete contrast to your lush green enviroment in NZ.

One of the best ever. They let me out of hospital on Wednesday and I was riding the dunes on Friday. Woohoo. Great racing on a dune course and lots of air time. Not me though. I never get off the ground anymore.

Have a look in here for photos. I think its open to all. https://www.facebook.com/groups/174309669297513/
