85kg on a dry lake...
Beginner wanting speed, 2m.
Intermediate wanting speed, 3m.
Experienced wanting speed 4m to 4.5m.
Ultimately you're going to get the most speed on a dry lake out of a race kite, but you're going to need a hell of a lot of them to be able to pick the right one for the wind. If you're happy to shave a few km/h off then you're better with an Intermediate kite that will offer greater windrange.
I got a fly of the new HQ Toxic at Kingston, which I would put up in my top 5 of fixed bridles quite happily. It also holds the 24 hour distance world record. Cris Italy who set his 94.6km/h on his HQ Montana during the trip said to me "take it away or I buy the bloody thing." So we had to pack away

If you're after outright speed then experience plus a race kite is going to get you the most speed provided you have a blazing wind and the right kite size. If you're not that experienced, a good intermediate kite and a decent wind is going to give you your top speed at this stage of your kiting.
