Deep in the midst of winter, opportunities are few and far between, the next realistic chance of going to our favorite beach is around the 28th of July .

The wind /weather may end up not being favorable, but it is a light at the end of a cold and wet tunnel, just hope it doesn't get switched off before we get there.

Tide is smack in the middle of the day, so Friday and Sunday could be a chance for those who want to double up.

Anyway the invitation is out there. :friends:

Saturday is the day (28th) I would be interested in. There are a number who travel a long way who might want an extra day to make it worth it ..... Hence the extra day to double up with, either the Friday or the Sunday.... All three if weather allows ( unlikely)

Sorry, i seem to have left it not quite clear enough.

Looks good from that prediction, it will be nice to have some wind.... Any wind to play with, lately it's been very light winds and northerlies.

It should still hold out for some wind, if the direction changes, I'm happy to go to an alternative location...... Will wait and see how it shapes up.

Definitely keen to get out and have a run, be interested to see just how much difference a small kite in higher winds makes to the top speed, it'd be nice to get over 60 ks, should be able to do it if it's NOT gusty, if it's gusty I'd probably under power somewhat as it's the small kites that do the damage, been there done that.

3 days and 3 different weather forecasts, first it's sat, then fri, now it's Sunday .

No doubt it will change again, but as long as there is wind I'm going somewhere....just might not be sandy point.

Don't worry too much, it will change again before the end of the week.
I have a couple ideas if the winds don't work for sandy, we will chew it over Thursday, friday and get a general consensus, if it goes more sth then 13th works, nth it's truganina, westerlies...... Hmmm truganina or perhaps one of the bay beaches, if it's windy and damp it might be doable, school holidays are over so that opens up possibilities.
We haven't done presidents park yet, and maybee the spikes are not there in winter??

    I'm going somewhere, regardless.

Me too, providing I'm not gonna get too wet! Weather bureau has proven time and time again that it actually cannot predict the wind with any certainty even 24hrs out. Five days out I pay it no heed whatsoever. Or am I maybe just a tad tooooooo cynical? :dontknow:

I have to agree with you John,
Still for a change, all predictions say we will get wind unlike recent days of none.
Here is hoping it pans out.

You can fly those NASA wings in an absolute downpour, given it's a single skin, so dress up for the wet :diablo:

Flying NASAs in rain? Mine got wet once in a down pour, I mean a strong down pour and it would not even launch, it was a just a wet clump of nylon lying in the grass plus a tangle of wet briddles :( . On the positive side, they do dry quick. As for joining in on a trip, I'm booked in on Saturday for landboard session for a downhill run with my son for around mid day, who knows what will happen in the late afternoon though. BakersDozen: we will be at Brimbank Park, you're welcome to come along if the wind is rotten --- not meant to be a thread hijack, just came to my mind).

Reckon I will play the fence sitter and see what the trees do on the day for a local run.
