Luke, the point I was trying to make, that if you used the stronger 7050, then you could make it even lighter. Though once you start thinning away, you can get buckling problems, then web stiffeners need to be added.

You must be feeling like a big kid, three weeks out from Christmas?

When I saw Rich jump up and down and rock back and forth on those Terras it looked a very stable system.

    Cheers for explaining it SB.

Yes he got my deposit and is ordering some of the parts to make them now, wheels bindings.....

    Yep pretty excited.

I agree they look very stable even with the higher centre of gravity to for eg, Spartans set.

I think they will be ok!

    Good news.

A deal fell through and the Terrablades for an order are now mine.

They will be shipped early next week, I saw them on a Skype meeting this morning and they look bad ass!

I hope to have them in the next 10 days, Much sooner than I was expecting.

    Let the freestyle begin! :D

Sore legs! Been buggying to long.

I am pretty excited about them now.

Will get skating on them as soon as they arrive each evening, and the first decent day their is some wind get to work on them.

Snazzy Luke, hopefully they will be here in time for next weekend so you can hit the dunes at Stockton ;)

Just one question though those valve stems in the photos look like as though they go very close to striking the inside of the plate do they cut them down to clear or is that standard length. Looks like you might be pushing to get a valve cap on to stop the sand a dirt getting into the valves.

    Hi Goz,

The valve stems are ground down to have minimal clearance to the side frame.

Rich has toyed with the idea of making the frames wider to accommodate longer valve stems with caps but this would change the dynamics of the skates.

If it helps, my buggy does not have some valve caps on them (I loose them at the servo) and generally when I am putting air in the tire I just blow them out first of all.

Will have to see how it goes. If it becomes an issue I will just plug them with something.

    The Terras look fantastic mate.

But there's a big problem with them.

Picture this You drive down to your local park. The wind is blowing a perfect 15 knts. A beautiful sunny day. You open your tail gate, and here's the problem. What do you pull out, the Buggy or the Terrablades. :o :sorry:

fweugh ..... wow .... drewl ........ They sure look serious Luke, without any scale rule next to them you could think they are some mega army vehicle from a futuristic film. With those spare thread holes you could mount a mini cam there, hmm interesting vids?

So how are you going to sleep at night with all that anticipation Luke?

The M1 Abraham tank comes to mind, guaranteed to break my legs before I break them :)

I was thinking of auditioning for Transformers 3 actually, they will look the part.

Anticipation, or fear? I do not step on these things lightly, I have a feeling the air time capable having the use of my legs will catch me by surprise, time will tell :)
