...... but it's only a kite...afterall..an kids fly em... :fool:

Helmets Killers and padding only weigh you down, no good when height is your aim...I guess??

but letting go of the handles, when that high up, doesn't look to be the best way out of that type of situation... :p

    It's a worry.... :dontknow:

Just strap yourself to that new Buggy of yours JD that should stop you getting lofted so easily, and if you do make sure to get it on video as I doubt many people have jumped a dominator :derisive:

I've never really done any jumping with kites before.

Any tips for avoiding lofting like this?

    In gusty/strong conditions, I always:
    - Move the kite slowly when taking it to zenith / back past zenith
    - trim down / switch to smaller kite

Maybe I should learn how to jump, so I know what will get me into trouble...

It's not so much that he jumped incorrectly Jas .... more so that a wild gust got him.

I am not really into jumping, but the best tip I can give you is start small .. tiny steps are better than big bites mate.

HAHAHA LMFAO ... I've got one of those and had some close calls but none quite so severe , but certainly never let go of the handles in that situation..

Great footage mate , nice to know you recovered however long it took :)

Another good clip outlining some basic do and don't s

Don't think a fix bridle on a bar makes it de-power
    Do wear a helmet
Don't kite in winds beyond you ability
Do bring a friend when its "extreme"
Don't let the kite slip into the powerzone if you are not ready
Do make sure someone has a camera handy on days like these ....

that second one marty, looks like its in the UK.

no one else on the beach in the UK should have told him not to fly, but then again, if he didnt fly that day, we would not see such an entertaining demonstration of stupidity.

Also note, no helmet, no knee pads, no elbow pads, no xxxxxx (you can guess the rest). Learners take note, this is how not to kite.

There was a light at the end of the tunnel .... it was an offshore wind and the blades don't water relaunch ... thank God for the that!
