There are quite a few things that have become distinctly clear throughout this thread ...... and most of them have nothing to do with 8" x 8" rims

Hey Marty, do you know if a midi tyre on the 4" rim actually fits into the Vmax midi front fork?? I think the rubbish rims I used for the midi's were 3 1/2" (ish) and they tyre fits in with half and inch or so to spare on either side...

Well isn't this (in the words of our wonderous PM) quite the political shit storm! At the end of the day as far as the rest of us kiters go, who really gives a toss where you buy them from. As long as you end up with a quality product as the best possible price then whats the issue?? Competition is great for everyone except the shops, enjoy it. Not sure why the need to publicly state where you will buy your rims from as I am sure that majority of peeps will go to where the best price is and if they are the same then their closer/more convenient shop. To all those that have posted where they will purchase, can I ask if there is a $100 price difference at the two different shops per rim what would you do then?? Fork out an extra 300 bucks?? Do you all really have that much shit on your nose?? Comon guys I ride for Steve but at the end of the day I shop where I can still save a buck. I bought my GPS from Mr Boats, I get my shackles and odds and ends from BCF or the local chandler, if the lawn mower shop sold these particular rims at a cheaper price I would give my shop the oppotunity but if they couldn't give me the best price then sorry.....

Lets leave the shops to their own digs at eachother, we all know that yes they are an interesting read but to get involved and somewhat divide our community over who bloody shops where is more than ridiculous. You may say that this isn't causing division, I can assure you that to some degree it already has. Look at the latest poll in this thread, people obviously take note of who buys from who and where their loyatly lays, I just have to ask myself why? IMHO if you don't own a shop then have a read of the shop V shop posts, have a laugh and do your damn best not to aggrevate or encourage the situation. It does nothing to further yourself or the shop that you are trying to help.

At the end of the day if any one shop did close up and went out of business the end result would be the rest of us would pay more for our gear and really, who wants that. On the same token if any one website sponsor was to shutdown or pull advetising that would alo mean a reduction in income for EK's, meaning a possibly less detailed site for us all.

We all have our right to be tossers every now and again, as long as it isn't a constant thing then all is good.

FINALLY......Back on topic.......

These Rims are looking sweet! Definately something I will be sussing out as soon as Steves next order from Libre arrives with my new Forks. I will be wacking a set of bigfoots all round just so I can hit the Stockton Dunes.....Also because JD reakons that it's the size of your tyre that counts!

Its completely obvious now that kite sports are here to stay, the market is oversupplied, and desperate brands and distributors are doing desperate things that are affecting our daily lives.

Together and united I think we have the ability to reduce the impact of these short term gain driven activities of some players in our industry.

IMHO from an outsiders (with no prior knowlege) point of view is that the thread would have been started based on information supplied to the reporting media by the shop (or someone connected to it) originally concerned, not sure who else would know about it or bother posting it for that matter. I am aware however of the great lengths a secondary shop has gone to over the past few months to secure some of these rims for it's customers. I see that this secondary shop obviously felt that incorrect information was being supplied and went about correcting any misunderstanding. From there it seems it was all really blown out of porportion and as you say it was every man for himself.

So who's to blame? The Media the shop where the rumors originated or the shop that made the correction or the customers getting ivolved??

I was really just trying to point out that all the banter and name calling wasn't get anyone any where and as you say having customers and media getting involved ...... well just turn on the TV.

Read the thread again (from the start) Clarify to yourself of who starts what..... even blind Freddy can see where the wobbly was thrown. When posts are made in any thread that have been carefully crafted to be sarcastic and accusation folk bite. When they are so left of center it ain't funny then honor gets defended. Point being, ya cant just come into the middle of a squabble on a white pony and expect it to chill.

As for folk having shit on their noses, I guess I am one of them. I will only shop locally at Briskites even if it is more expensive. That is my choice of which I have my reasons, this thread is definitely highlighting some of those reasons

The problem with blame is I usually find that the most vocal people are often more interested in establishing their own innocence than establishing blame, this is usually bullshit, inspired by a certain degree of insecurity, which in turn is probably due to them not in fact being entirely blameless.

As for this particular shitstorm it looks pretty clear cut party A published something which party B took offence at and evidentially missread.... and the appropriate embarrassment follows.

IMHO Marty all those with motive (you included) have clouded vision to some degree, be it with fecal matter or thoughts of loyalty. I guess at the end of the day it is up to those doing the reading to decide if they take on what someone else is writing. I don't believe it is up to people to try and discredit someones elses opinion.

FYI - I have read this thread thougherly since it started and didn't feel a need to jump in till I read more b/s this morning. No need to read it again but thanks anyway

My motive for getting on here was not to chill any situation but rather understand what everyone was carrying on about and to see who really gives two tosses who buys what where.
