    Well, what an eventfull day!

While watching other kiters on the footpath at Brighton, one kiter got another kite's bar caught on his lines. He goes powering across the launch area and pulls his safety just in time.

What I didn't see was (I think) the kite who's bar was caught launching and knocking a 3rd kite out of the air. The 3rd (15M) kite's lines clip me across the back of my neck before it gets caught on a light pole.

Later, I fumble GCDave's landing (hope I didn't damage the kite mate).

Then Daryl and I decide that there's too many kites, and go around to sandgate which was much better. The new board (135cm Underground) was much better - with a smaller dive of the kite, I was up and skipping accross the water much easier. Now I've just got to figure out what to do once i've got my speed up.

I nose dived my kite into the water a bit later, and blew a cell (at the tip near the zipper on the underside - almost identical to Norm's blowout). It wasn't that hard of a landing - I've given it much harder beatings than that (maybe that's why?).

Anyway, it's all part of the learning process I suppose...

Wow, that was a lucky escape!.... but accident?, I think not!

Ive had a theory for a while now that kite surfers have been surepticiously killing off buggiers, that was no accident that was attempted buggierside!

Can I make a prediction and ask if the culprit kite was a Cabrina, every time I see a kite fly out of control or land on the road or get stuck in a tree has been a Cabrina, go figure. Bad luck on that injury, don't let that keep you out of the water. I've got a dvd you can borrow Jabroni to help you on your way, there is alot to think about on the water. Practice, practice and more practice is the key, with a bit of good advice thrown in as well. Looking forward to getting out with some familiar faces soon.

I think it was actually - orange and white.

Well, at least I wasn't wearing a "no pumps" t-shirt... that would have been asking for it.

Im not sure about that one - I said to Westfire just before it happened that i was getting back out on the water due to the handful of mishap's occuring near the beach/grass...unlucky for the bloke who had his kite ripped by the pole today..lucky for me to not be apart of the moment...

From what i've been told, Marty's counted 150 kites in the area at one moment - i think there needs to be a culling of kiters if thats the case :p

Today was Jabroni's day - but his quick crabber's instincts kicked :D

Dave - happy with just tourists and surfers getting in the way :P

dont worry about kite surfers killing off buggiers its because of me running into jabroni ,[when i finally got up on my board,] that his kite got damaged

    Have fun :good:

Seems like you were a victim of Jasons warning Jab !!
It does get pretty busy there at times .... one of the reasons I like the buggies ... being outside the square has it's advantages.

    wish I was there

The kite that started the whole incident was a Cabrinha! :pump:
The bloke said he would pay for the Kitecarnage, launch one kite get wacked with a $350 repair bill.

Jason this is not how I wanted in anyway shape or form for you to be introduced to the sport. I hope that heels quickly & it was great to hear you got up & going on your new board. :yes3: :good: :clapping:

I'm hoping for a wednesday afternoon run, get there about 3.30-4.00, if you can make it that would be good, alot quieter during the week as well. I can spend some time out with you in the water & try to get those rides going for longer. :friends:

That beach is just to small for the weekend crowd, best to get out on the water as soon as possible & get away from the beach. Looking forward to improving my board skills so I can kite less popular spots. :dance4:

Yeah got out on the water, have been doing quite a few succesful changes of direction & my goofy foot direction is improving well. Sluggo's brother Chris was filming a kitesurfing segment for creek to coast with Jason & some hotty from the show mmmmmm very nice. Might have even managed to sneak myself into the shot, have to wait & see. :D :D :D
The only downside was there where stingers in the water & I got stung twice :( painful but not unbearable, the upside as I said before was onlt 3 kiters on the water at any given time. The water was fairly choppy again but I'm also improving in riding through that as well :dance3: , when the water flattened out the wind then died but I was back in by that stage anyway. This summer should have it nailed & allways looking forward to my next ride. :clapping: :crazypilot: :dance4:

Only 3 of us on the water & this mad frenchman almost cleans up my kite, I walking back upwind & he cruises past me on the upwind side so I put my kite low, I kept walking thinking he will cruise past me on the downwind side. So I put my kite at the twelve o'clock & he continues headin straight for me the lines cross & the kites allmost hit each other & I lose my footing. So I'm madly trying to move backwards & he's of his board but still coming towards me, he eventually stops, moves downwind & we separated the two kites without an incident :clapping: crazy frenchmen LOL. :crazypilot: :wall2: :friends: :drinks:
