Mackay has great windy conditions all year round. Firstly in summer their Northly winds blow around 15+ Knots all the time with Winds reaching 30+ Knots. Have a far selection of great beaches for all wind Directions.

South East Winds - Low Tide would be down at east point (at the end of Harbour Beach)- Flat water created by sand bar being formed from sand being pulled out of Pioneer River. The sandbar becomes bigger and bigger every year. It's a great flat water location (best for Winter with southerly winds)
- Mid - High Tide would have to be Harbour Beach with a nice swell coming through on a strong south easterly Wind.
- High Tide would be town beach on any southerly winds... sand bars appear and beach has a very steady slop for about 2 km out....

North East Winds - 2 great locations would have to be the best in town and these winds come through in Summer.
- Blacks Beach a great sandbar pops out and extends for 200 metres or longer providing Kiters to a great flat water Logoon! Only for Low Tide.
- Bucasia beach for the high tide - great as a sand bar is out about 50 metres off shore also providing a flat water channel for kiters to ride!

Overall Great location for Kiteboarding! Winds blow all year round and the guys are always in the water riding.
