New Skywatch wind meter range hits Australia

Monday, 07 December 2009 | Kitesurfing , by Joel Theodore
skywatch_meteosThe new Skywatch wind meter range has come to Australia.  The new range features a complete redesign of the Skywatch Eolo 1 and Skywatch Meteos  .  We have been impressed by the Skywatch Meteos sent to us by Briskites for testing.  The unit feels solid, with durable materials and a clean impeller design allowing unobstructed unidirectional airflow.

The Eole has a basic feature set, with the Meteos being the more advanced unit recording and displaying more variables.  Both are very robust units, with sturdy industrial designed moulded plastics and a lid to protect the impeller.  An aluminium base to hook a tripod or stick to get a higher altitude reading, and just in case you drop it in the water the units are waterproof and float.  One feature we also appreciated was the back lighting on the unit, making it also suitable for dusk or night time use.
