So a few months ago I finally kicked the bucket and changed my U-Turn Butan 7.8 from handles to bar and added the U-Turn UDS. I like handles for buggying but I see why bar comes in handy for KGB, just so much more you can pull off.

The UDS convertion was so simple, since the bridle system on all U-Turn kites are designed to adopt a depower system if you want. The UDS was pretty simple to figure how too, since everything was colour coded.

The flight characterists are still the same even on bar, flies fast and stable. The Butan still turns fast, since I was using a 60cm bar. IMO the bar is a bit long for me, since I normally use a 45cm for kitesurfing. The depower ability works, at zenith you can depower, and just stand there with no pull. Even when riding along, I notice I can depower completely, with no luffing.

One thing I did lose was the low-end of the windrange, I guess thats why depowerable kites are so much bigger. Now I want to change my 9m and 11m Butan to UDS for KGB.

The U-Turn UDS retails for $100.00 USD IMO, not bad for being able to change your kites from fixed to depower. Seeing how expensive some of these depower only kites cost. With this way I can remove the system and go back to handles for buggying.

Pictures to follow of kite in flight, and the U-Turn SPS Bar (leashless safety). Thx Ricardo - KC88
