Speed Week v2 2017

PLEASE NOTE:- Fly Date Changed in post below.

Over dinner last night, we were discussing November's Long Weekend (Cup Weekend) and wondered with the meet at the end of Sept, whether or not Speed Week would go ahead. @igeightyand I are very much keen as were a couple more, to get away again (and will see if Neil at Sandy Point can accommodate sites at the park)

I guess the proposed dates would be :-

Saturday 4th November - Tuesday 7th November

If your interested, comment on this post.

Please note that if this event does happen, accommodation/camping will need to be organised by yourself.

Ive just sent a request to the Camp Site to (if any sites are still unbooked) reserve 5 sites. So please comment below.

Doug is looking at the tides now - might be a trip later in November (when the tides are earlier, the sun is up that little longer and there isn't a public holiday busying up the place)

10th, 11th, 12th and 13th November are more tidy promising so we shall be heading down there then.

Friday 10th - Low Tude 11:30am

Saturday 11th - Low Tide 12:10pm

Sunday 12th - Low Tide 13:00pm

Monday 13th - Low Tide 13:50pm

I am a bit surprised that this thread started, considering that we all knew why the Speed Week celebrations had been switched from early Nov to Sept.

You could consider it speed week part 2.  I might be up for a day trip or overnighter.

Why was it switched ? I probably missed the announcement.

We where sitting at the pub last night after dean festival, and talked about heading down anyways. and probably a few times in between :)

I dont really need an excuse for a buggy when summer is here :)

Might just rename the event then as it doesn't fall on the Speed Week Cup Long weekend. We're all keen to get out as much as we can if the weather is fine.

I think we are doing the old Groundhog Day routine over and over.

The unfortunate tide timing of the Melb Cup weekend led to suggestions by others for a switch to the earlier weekend with the advantage of middle of the day tides.

By all means, buggy any time....

Unfortunately, I can't make it that weekend.  It's been too long since I caught up with everyone.  Hopefully I can make it down to Sandy in Nov.
