somone was watching too much Dr Who. “Designed to work hand in hand with a small nuclear reactor or other suitable power source, the flux capacitor is capable of opening up a hole in the fabric of space time allowing transportation to a user defined point in the past or future.” ... $200,000.00 Great find Andt666.

Sand in Your Undies at Kingston SE 2019

Taking a look at that video and your clay pan looks very much like our Ivanpah playa where we hold IBX each year just outside of Las Vegas at the NV/CA state line. Is this surface really abrasive? Ivanpah could be likened to flat, rock hard, endlessly cracked 40# sandpaper. Plays hell on your kites if you drag them at high speeds under line tension. There's nothing like the swell feeling of riding at 40-50 mph, loose focus and dip your wingtip down until it touches. Like dropping your kite on a belt sander. I swear I saw a poof of red dust when I touched down a 4.0m Peak2 one year. Now it's a 3.9m.

Haha, someone had a good laugh when they adding products to the jaycar online store. Too bad they are now out of stock https://www.jaycar.com.au/flux-capacitor/p/OUTATIME
  9. Had a great run this arvo on the clay pan along with John and Doug. A little sticky as you head west and a bit bumpy out in the middle at high speed, but 104 kms of awesome fun. Bottom line is, the beach AND the clay pan are in brilliant nick. Look forward to catching up.

So far it looks as though the weekend 2-3 Mar is the most popular.

Sand in Your Undies at Kingston SE 2019

Had a look at the clay pan this morning with John and it is very good. We had a tiny bit of rain overnight and the surface is only slightly tacky in places. Over 100m out and I only have clay one one thong. give it a day or too and it should be rock hard. https://youtu.be/Ok6WCpOK88Y tje beach is super smooth and the wind is onshore.

    Lightweight Buggy rims

The benefits is performance, you will minimize the speening weight (weight in movement), the farther weight from the center of the wheel the more important it is... The tires are also very important, the lighter, the better... So, you will reach your maximum speed much faster... You can’t do this with plastic, the mechanical property are too weak. And I join you guys on the comment of the plastic rims are not perfectly round... I would say, same as bicycle race, you want to minimize the turning weight on your wheels, cause those are efforts you are working against to make the bicycle moving forward. 👍😀

    Nasa Star 4

On 40m lines if you're content with big slow turns you don't need a lot of force to bring the kite around but if you want to hurry things up then you've got to give a good strong pull. I did try a 4m NS3 on this setup and it worked well - turned really quickly with minimal input but unfortunately just wasn't big enough to ski behind.

Tides are better for the weekends of 2-3 Feb, 16-17 Feb or 2-3 Mar. Can't tell what the winds will be doing at this early stage so I guess we settle on an date and hope the winds blow fair. I'm flexible on dates.

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

It was the tides that attracted me. I haven't made any commitments yet, so I am still flexible. Anyone want to suggest dates?

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

Hi Bob, I've been trying to find a date for us all to meet over a weekend , but I'm afraid for me, Feb is filling up with commitments. I cannot make it on 16 Feb. I could do the previous weekend 9/10 Feb or the following Sat 23 Feb. Don't know what weather conditions and tides are likely to be but first weekend in Mar (2/3) is a possibility? Info :- @Mfwetu, @twojaythomo, @BobM, @jdhot, @123matt, @Eluder

I'm thinking of doing a day-trip to Seven Mile Beach on Saturday the 16th of February. The low tide is at 18:29 with Sundown at 19:43. Anyone else interested?
