    Dual and Quad sport kites

As like you @KaoS - kites need to be flown and with @igeighty collection of MEFM’s now, unfortunately everything else starts to collect dust (that’s assuming I get to fly them too) otherwise it’s my 2 prisms and my HQ from @andy666 which are my go-to’s. Befriended a fella in the USA who has a fantastic collection - hundreds! He might be in the market to grow his collection.

    Born-Kite Racestar 5.0M

Re-read this review this morning and continue to agree with Tony's and (indirectly) Plummet's comments. I've recently had a week of buggying on the hard inland Ivanpah playa near Las Vegas, NV, USA at IBX 2019. Had the opportunity to log many, many miles on an array of RaceStars and the new 3.0m RaceStar+, all set up with their own Born-Kite Universal control bars that are adjustable in terms of width between the brake lines, going from 45cm - 60cm by 5cm increments. I like to use the most narrow 45mm setting for the 3.0m RS+ and 5.0m RS, 55cm for the 7.0m RS, and the widest 60cm for the 9.0 and 11.0m RSs. If I could have an even more narrow setting for the 3.0m RS+ (maybe 40 or even 35cm) that would calm it down a bit. Tony described the 5.0m RS as being a little "twitchy". It's a calm grampa in a recliner compared to the 3.0m in high winds. Once you learn to seriously calm down your movements when flying the 3.0m RS+ it is a veritable blast. Likewise, if there could be a wider bar for the 11.0m it would turn more quickly in the ultra-low winds when it is suitable on a low friction surface like a playa. Such a wide bar would be impractical for use in a buggy so I at times reached up and manually pulled on a brake line to bring the kite around more quickly. I do want to point out that the 11.0m RS turns MUCH faster and plenty fast enough in almost all settings, especially when compared to the 12.5m LongStar-2 (which incidentally was not offered in the LS3 line just coming online). A note about RaceStar vs RaceStar+ kites. The "+" are some flexible stiffeners introduced vertically along the lower half of the kite. This adds a fair amount of cost, some weight penalty, and I suppose some size penalty when rolled up and put away. Note that these kites are still vastly lighter and smaller packed than comparable meter sized double skinned kites that they could reasonably compared to (Chronos, etc.). The thing is, the RS+ rocks! If I had it to do over again I'd get all RS+ kites, versus only a single 3.0m RS+ and the rest RSs. In air behavior is improved, and flapping is almost eliminated, and the kite will keep its shape even when barely powered up. I don't want to say that these are weaknesses for the RS line, but things just get A LOT better with the RS+ at the price of costing a fair amount more.

    Dual and Quad sport kites

I've always felt kites are for flying, not collecting. The slow progression of arthritis in my thumbs and wrists means these don't get flown... but they should. Hopefully a new owner can do them justice. Posting here before I put them on other sites next week. Rev I - Lee Sedgewick model. Excellent condition, flown maybe 3 times. Fitted with Revolution Strong frame (as standard), Race Rods frame included. $275 shipped in Australia. KaoS Quad. Excellent condition. Fitted with Revolution 1.5 Race Rods frame, "Spanish" bridle, and "French Sticks" on the rear (for faster, more stable reverse flying). $275 shipped in Australia. Level One "Reloaded". Brand new, never flown. Complete with original, unused lines, straps and winder. $200 shipped in Australia. *** SOLD *** Blue Moon "Killer Bee". $295 shipped in Australia. *** SOLD *** Blue Moon "Mongoose" STD (black) and UL (charcoal) - matched pair. What a great video!!! Ha ha, I feel his pain. It took me a good while to change over from my Peter Lynn Vapors to Ozone R1's. It wasn't till Pete from New Zealand gave me a few tips and got me up and truly running depower, then I've never looked back.

Hello @outlaw I have used f arc 12 & 16 few years ago, sold them, and looking for now again. Would you still have any for sale (16 mainly, but 12 too) , and if yes, post to France ? (NZ post rate finder seems acceptable). As I am a newcomer, I can not PM you, could you PM me for answer? Thank you very much, and good ride. Morgan.

'kin brutal. I've seen video of the tomahawk test with the Speed5 and Viron too. The only issue I have is that the kites aren't as "loaded" as they could be -- let the bodies hit the water, then loop it into the power zone. Let's see that done a dozen times...

Interesting, I have never seen you here. Actually I never kite Sandgate, so not only do I not trust your kite advice it seems you can't be trusted in general to be truthful. If those videos can be done with any kite, why haven't they??? Also why are you even on this thread? I't generally poor form from a "business" to bag out other products just to pretend their product is just as good. No Pansh are not as good, period. They don't fly properly out of the bag, are made of lesser materials, don't have the R&D, don't fly as well and often won't even relaunch from the water. In essence you are a lying, trolling bottom dweller.

Yes, Frank doesnt use a harness - his kite is connected with the safetybelt of his buggy. Another way of riding, but not allowed for FISLY events.

Fantastic video!!! The buggy at 4.46 is neat with the rollbar fitted Juan. Is it because he's hotwired?

LOL.. from what I've heard from "your" locals around Sandgate, I would say you're not far behind either. Besides - those videos are useless. Change the kite to an Ozone, or even a PANSH Aurora II and they too give you floaty landings and decent jumps. When are kiters going to stop this rort of buying expensive over-priced kit, when wind-is-wind and it all comes down to the pilot - not the kit (not as much anyway).

Actually no. I did "have one" a while back as a loan from another local here. How can I say this... I didn't like it. It's a good kite, but for the price... again... meh.
