Traktor - Split from "It's Back"

All those buttons are used to either appy different FX or create cue and loop points in the track that's playing. So you can basically remix a track on the fly, dropping in various parts and loops of that track as you please. You also do 'juggling' of the track your playing to give it a completely new feel. Pretty cool stuff. Something that a traditional DJ would have to do by using 2 of the same records and moving the needle around to different parts of the song manually. then crossfading between.

Traktor - Split from "It's Back"

Norm, Yes it's a 2 octave keyboard. I do have a full size controller keyboard, however it doesn't sit nicely on my desk - so it's setup to the side. Along with all my microphones, guitars, bass, digeridoos & percussion instruments I don't typically play 2 handed piano, mainly just one handed parts when producing, so the 2 octave is fine. Plus it has a really nice pitch bend wheel that kind of springs back to the center, which makes for recording fun synth lines Note when recording Vinyl into the puta, make sure your going thru an amp with a line level output or a dj mixer. Don't go straight from the phono output of the turntable to the puta. Phono and line levels are a different kettle of fish I just checked the S2, doesn't have an input for recording vinyl straight to puta. You're going to need something in between - a DJ mixer would be best if you have one

Traktor - Split from "It's Back"

Nice one - cheers Goz. Was thinking we was getting a little off topic. Wondering if we should change the name of the topic to be something like EK Members Music or something like that. That way, there's a place for us to share anything regarding our music - pics or links etc. ? And not just relating to DJ stuff Thoughts?

I hear ya Dubspot is awesome for tuts. Maschine is wikkid fun too! You can get the best of both worlds (DJ and production) with Ableton Live too. It's what I use for both playing gigs and production. Bit of Logic Pro in there for final mixing and mastering. Here's my room of doom

    HOW TO - ..........................

Yo Carltb, would you be able to make a video explaining how to edge on a landboard? I'm having trouble grasping it and I know it's the thing that is holding me back. If no vid, even an explination would be most awesome Or, if anyone else wants to chime in - that'd be great too

Traktor - Split from "It's Back"

Seems there are quite a few music/kite types on the EK. Traktor is great, Serato is good for working with that real Vinyl feel and Ableton Live is just awesome for everything. Seeing as we are sharing soundcloud links.... http://soundcloud.com/a-bakers-dozen http://abakersdozen.com.au/

    HOW TO - ..........................

Thanks for these vids - really helping me starting out. Learning to ride switch and control the kite both ways is pretty much inevitable right?
