Sand in Your Undies at Kingston SE 2019

Any dates for Speed Week at Sandy Point this year? Not sure how far ahead we need to book the caravan park.

    Ozone Wasp Wing

This is an interesting development. Interesting to read they recommend it for land and water use but do not mention land use in a buggy. Perhaps it would be to difficult to use sitting down? I would like to hear people’s views on use in a buggy? What do you think? Couldn’t find a price either! https://ozonekites.com/products/wings/wasp-v1

    Ozone Wasp Wing

Hey thanks. That’s really interesting and similar to my thoughts that it would be difficult to control from a sitting position in a buggy, especially the larger sizes. Bit expensive too.

    3.5m Flexifoil Blurr for sale

I have had this kite from new and have probably flown it less than 10 times as I moved to depower kites. Material still crisp and bridles and lines in excellent condition. Includes bag, handles, lines, kite killers and instructions etc that came with kite. Innovative triple position bridle adjustment. Full details can be found on Flexifoil website. $250 plus postage or can bring to Sandy Point.

    3.5m Flexifoil Blurr for sale

Kite SOLD to @moc. Suggested that as a beginner, he might contact @nigel to ask about anybody in the Melbourne area that might give him some kiting instruction. Cheers and happy winds!

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

It has been suggested that we organize a weekend probably somewhere along the south coast when NSW and Canberra kiters can get together. Of course all others welcome too. I will suggest some dates both later this year and early next year to see which suits the majority best. Please give an indication if you are interested.

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

@Mfwetu I agree that winds don’t look good for the weekend. Let’s keep an eye on conditions and see if we can arrange another day for CANBERRA and NSW guys before the winter winds. I can probably get away for a day over the Easter period.

@jdhot sorry to hear that John and hope you get better soon.

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

@Mfwetu thanks for the update and what a pity. I think I could join you at Culburra for one day over Easter if conditions are right. Keep me informed. Cheers

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

I’m looking much the same and can’t do Sunday now but if conditions are right would be great to meet up on Sat. Currarong again?

Had a quick session on Tuesday

Great video and that’s not only a great top speed but some impressive acceleration as well. Is that Camber Sands? What kite were you flying as a matter of interest?

I could definite do Sat 6 April at the moment and possibly the weekend.

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

Sorry you could not make it John. Getting on to the beach is easy but same as Bob, it was hard work pulling my Seismic back up a soft sand slope but doable. And if there are a few of us we could all help each other. Sunday’s could be ok for me. Let’s try another date before the winter winds arrive.

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

Thanks for coming down to Currarong @BobM. Wind between 13 and 18 knots in my estimation. Used my 7.5m Born Kites LongStar2 throughout. We covered 50km with my top speed 49.7kph. The sea eagle was quite spectacular. A pity we did not manage to get more people down there. I noted the caravan park in Currarong so we could have a weekend there in the future if people wanted to. The beach is great with hard sand at low tide and wave like undulations which make it interesting and fun. A good day out.

I’d try to get down if you made a weekend of it!

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

@BobM Thanks Bob. Yes I have accessed that beach from Currarong once before and as you say, its relatively easy to manhandle the buggy to the beach, so I will do the same. See you down there!

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

Thanks @BobM and @Mfwetu. Sounds like a day out on Sat which suits me fine. Happy to head for either Seven Mile or Hammerhead, although Hammerhead is probably closer to Canberra. When you say Hammerhead @Mfwetu, do you get onto the beach at Currarong or is their a drivable path at Hammerhead Point? I plan to leave first thing on Sat so could meet up at 11.30 ish. My mobile is 0408 612 336.

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

Thanks for this. I was still thinking of heading to Gerroa caravan park for Fri and Sat but if it’s looking more like a one day get together on the Sat, I’d be happy to just head down for the day. What are other people doing?

    NSW and Canberra Buggy Meet

Looking like this might turn into Just day trips rather than a weekend get together.

Or would the majority prefer Windang?
