    Pansh Genesis 2019

Sadly I've no experience of this kite. After modifying my 8m Adam to depower successfully, I'd love a go on one of these. Maybe some time in the future I'll treat myself, sadly paragliding has taken over...ooops.

What's everyone's go to kite in patchy light wind.

You put it better than I could. Both in a buggy or foil.

Been itching to get the Mrs and dog on the sup with a kite just for a laugh.

No. Speed 3s don't count As I said, each to their own. I enjoy bottom end foiling, sea being pond like and having it all to myself as it takes a different skill set. I don't want to have nothing to do mid summer living next to the beach just because I only want to use a 10 lei.

How much foiling have you done with an 18m race foil kite? The guys at my beach kite all year round on one 10m lei which is great, but does limit summer days kiting. I'm still very much a noob on my home made foil but I'm able to do consistent runs upwind and down wind in 6 to 8. As I progressed this year I was able to cut harder up wind and down, downwind is more challenging but very much possible as I am reminded by the only other 2 guys that foil/foil cutting so fast down wind even to me it seems magical. In the end each to their own I guess. I'm happy to push my limits and skills in the low range. Yes I've swam in ,no it's not fun, but the numerous sessions I had this year while others sat watching have been worth every minute.

Tis a shame. 6 to 8kts of wind and I'm foiling while others look on waiting for stronger winds. In the buggy I can get going in less wind. Big foil kites are amazing.

    Hobby? What hobby?

Hey peeps. Just wondered what else you guys do for fun? Anyone have as short an attention span as myself? Kite skates to kite buggy to kite surfing to kite foiling and now this......it's just getting silly. Lol

    Hobby? What hobby?

I have rc gliders. Flown for 20 years, but now just sat in the loft. Now that I've taken up paragliding and use the same slopes I don't think the gliders will ever be flown again.

    Surfboard

Had to have a go. Wanted to try loads of techniques, materials with the aim of a fast board and it actually worked too.

    Kite foil

Simple. DIY. Wood and glass. One days work so far. Who knows....might even work. Based on clearwaterhydrofoils version.

    Kite foil

I'm using pine for the structure. Light and strong and fairly cheap too

    Kite foil

Hey hey peeps. Think this needs an update. So.......after 2 failed attempts last year and only getting back to it 3ish weeks ago here's the progress....... Well, the foil works....really well. It's not fast but it's pretty stable and I have been able to learn on it. It has a steady stall and you feel it before it lets go at very low speeds. It's lack of sharp edges means so far only bruising but no cuts on impact. But it also sings but I've seen production ones do that too. Overall I am really happy with it. It owes me £200 and is strong sturdy and stiff enough for the job. Imo the best way to learn foiling is on your own build. This has had another effect.......mk2 is now in the making. Slimmer, sharper, adjustable, interchangeable wings and hopefully faster. We shall see.

Advice seeking on how to tune bridles - A,B,C and Z

First off check all lines are equal from left to right. If not make them So. Fly it and evaluate it's characteristics. If the leading edge is collapsing this can be remedied by lengthening the a lines or shortening the b's. Just the b lines will change camber. Keep this in mind as it will effect it's speed and stability if done too much. Though some kites fly ok with a little reflex. You can shorten both b and c lines, this will keep it's camber and add aoa, this can bring on in effect less depower range. The trick is to try these and find what works for you.

    Pansh Aeolus

Well its here. The culmination of Pansh progress. http://www.panshkite.com/index.php?gOo=goods_details.dwt&goodsid=434&productname= Fingers crossed we get to see it soon! Personally i predict it to be another step in the right direction and a brilliant kite. The aurora2 and Cerberus are brilliant. This can only get better. Under £800 for a 18m. Yes please.

    Pansh Aurora2 15M

The Aurora 1 was a little hit and miss for pretty much all that tried one. With work they would fly. But that's not what a customer expects to do no matter how cheap they are. Pansh had then made the A15 and then gave the Aurora another go. Now I was given a prototype Aurora 2 15m to work on with Pansh. Fly it. Tweek it and send videos and feedback. I done this. And they responded with a v2 bridle set for the aurora 2. Yay I though. They are finally listening. Or were they? I flew it on the v1 bridle and found it worked great. It would launch. It would turn. It wod let you jump. And depower safely. However it seemed a bit sluggish. So I made some adjustments using the metal line end pieces they use. Each can shorten a line about 50mm approx and using these made it fast and temporary but safe to keep in the lines. I shortened the b line by 51mm and the brake lines by 102mm and tried again. The kite would launch and inflate faster. It would sit depowered but with a "ready for action" kind of stance rather than a previously floppy slow responce before. Brake line shortening made it turn all the better too. I flew it at the nobarriers event along side another that was on v2 bridles. V2 bridles would also fly but it looked awkward to launch. So when I had the chance I swapped mine over. I compared the bridles to see they had indeed shortened the lines I had, but not by the same measurements. And maybe some other lines too. On launch the tips would rise and fold over to the centre. A more positive power on launch was needed as was a lot of pressure inflation. Then as it flew it seemed even less responsive and more prone to collapsing in on itself in low winds. I very quickly put my modified v1 bridles back on. This gas made me wonder if Pansh are at all flying these kites themselves to see how they fly in the real world. Or relying on numbers given out by their design software. Anyway. Don't let this put you off. With very simple tweeks this kite is now a favourite of mine. It's great low wind machine. Upwind is very nice as is downwind. It turns fast enough but I'm finding it hard to keep off the ground in a rushed turn on 15m lines. 20m lines will be best. The lift and float is predictable and addictive. It's the only kite that I enjoy jumping with. Set up with the bar trim so it doesn't back stall in the wind speed and your good to go. The build quality is bloody brilliant. Not top if the line but your not paying top of the line either. Large zip for deflation makes packing up a breeze. Magnetic blow out actually works....I love it. They have even put mesh over the intakes to help hold shape and aerodynamics. However it is a rubberised material and tends to pick up wet sand then get blown into the kite. This kite is a push in the right direction. Pansh ARE listening to feedback (if not quite exact ) and the products are just getting better with each new kite. I can not wait to see what us next 😎

If you like fixed bridle race kites but not the peterlynn price tag. I would highly recommend these. http://www.panshkite.com/index.php?gOo=goods_details.dwt&goodsid=447&productname=

    Cerberus

I'm pretty sure you'll like this. A 3 Meter kite is the perfect storm kite for those speed freaks.
