I'm very sorry to say guys but I can't get across to Kingston this year to join you. All the usual excuses that didn't allow themselves to be ignored this time round. Sounds like its a great start, I hope everyone has a blast in 2018!!!!

Any plans for tomorrow morning at low tide? I think it's low around 10.30-11. I'll likely just head to the same spot...

Sailing Toop road beach at the moment. Quite nice if you stay out of the ruts

Kite buggy ski foils.... Hi crew. Any plans for tomorrow (Sat 20th) or is everyone playing by ear? My plan A is to try the beach at the end of Toops road in the morning. Fingers crossed the wind turns westerly!

Apparently the lake is drying out real fast in this summer heat and wind. Won't be counting chickens yet, but hopeful the lake is as good as this year in 2017.

Booked a house in Kingston from 20th-24th, hopefully get there a couple days earlier though (If I have anything to do with it!)... My father and sister should be out camping on the lake again around the same time.

I think this is a good idea and done easily with a few traffic cones, posts, colourful objects. It could also keep vehicles off the grass/saltbush, which was a small issue for the Rangers who pulled up last year. Its a good plan, but has me left wondering who do I camp with....please don't send me to the Blokarts

I've just had a short discussion with Greg (on the Blokart championship committee) and he assures me all measures will be taken to keep the lake a fun and social spot for everyone to sail/Kite. At present they plan to 'camp' further up the lake to give a bit of space between groups (and to give a nice setup area for kites). He does regret that the announcement of the event has caused a stir, and that they will sort through everyone's concerns in time. Shoot the SABC Facebook page a message if you want to get in touch. On a more positive note, he is looking forward to hosting an event with the other wind users present to further enhance the weekend experience.

I have opened up a line of communication with the event organiser, who is a nice bloke, and will be bringing up these points (actually, to be truthful he started the conversion with me recently). If anyone would like anything further to ad, feel free. Also, I'm sure the SA Blokart Club facebook page will happily discuss anything. I think most Blokart pilots are okay people, and a few are really great, but there were a couple that came across as if they need to be kicked off their high horse. Will report back what I find out...
