Thanks @andy666. Just wanted to clarify. So you've done this obviously. Did you push out all of the silicone from the caulk bottle into a bucket and mixed it with turps? How did you go? What ratios did you use? What kites did you try it on? Please share.

What silicone sealant would you recommend Terry? Like would this work? It's already to spray and it's water proof. https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/3-in-one-silicone-spray---300g/135463.html

LOL.. from what I've heard from "your" locals around Sandgate, I would say you're not far behind either. Besides - those videos are useless. Change the kite to an Ozone, or even a PANSH Aurora II and they too give you floaty landings and decent jumps. When are kiters going to stop this rort of buying expensive over-priced kit, when wind-is-wind and it all comes down to the pilot - not the kit (not as much anyway).

Actually no. I did "have one" a while back as a loan from another local here. How can I say this... I didn't like it. It's a good kite, but for the price... again... meh.

    Pansh Genesis 2019

I have the 2019 Genesis 12m and have only being using it on water so far. It is actually a bloody good kite for the price, and it handles similar to the older Pyscho III or HQ Neo kites, which I used to have. I have a ride using it on Strava https://www.strava.com/activities/2088155015 No pics, sadly. video yet Look to be honest, the Genesis is far more stable than the Aurora 1 12m, which I also had and sold. The Genesis spins like a C kite, but stays there and pulls like a fixed bridle kite. There was no folding, collapsing or wing-tip folds during flight. The jumps are amazingly good! That's when I really wooohooo'd out on the water and being so fast at turning, I had no problem re-directing for a soft landing. My only gripe with the kite is the packdown. She holds air like a balloon. The two little wing-tip zips are useless for deflating, and the magnetic-valves are useless as well. They are great for a kite crash, which I did do, and the kite did not blow up or anything happened. The valves just opened up to release the pressure. I know because a Flysurfer would not have survived had I'd done the same. I actually heard the "magnetic pop" sound of the valves releasing the air. Yeah that brought a smile too! The leading edge inlets are very wide, perhaps too wide as the kite automatically fills with air even without trying or opening one of the zips. This caused me grief recently, when I left it inflated and flapping in the wind, and the bridles got all tangled up! Speaking of bridles, they are brilliant. Thin, yet stiff and crispy feel-like. I've done the mixer test and all four joins are perfect! Pansh got it right with this kite, or at least the bridles for once! Relaunch was also "like a C kite". It was easy. The kite did not bow-tie. I just pulled on one of the steerers and she opened. I highly recommend the Genesis 2019. I think there is still a 6m for sale on Gumtree for $90! I would get it, but I don't have a need for small kites.

Land paddle boarding ( land SUP)

I am making my own paddle at the moment, and testing some different T handles and end-stick ends... the old grandpa walking rubber ends don't last and break apart quickly, depending on how aggressive you paddle, so I am experimenting with a mix of rubber and silicone ends. But here is a great video that shows you the technique I am learning, and yeah it's a upper chest work out. I think it's a great all-body exercise.

Shame you're not up here in Tonwsville, QLD. I could teach you land-kiting lessons easy

Hello. newbie Q bout depower kites-

Hey fellow landboarder! Welcome. I actually taught myself to landkite at a local park first and then progressed from there. Now I do both land and water kiting using the same kites, and depending on winds, etc. Just one thing to NOT do at this stage, is to try and jump. Try and keep yourself learning just "mowing the lawn" and then ease into kite-surfing on water where you can jump as much as you like, but even there do so when you're confident and beyond beginner stage - can go upwind, do a toe-side and back, transitions and have excellent control of the kite. Oh and yes, you'll need a bigger kite but as it's known - with immense power comes immense responsibility, so you have to know what you're doing. I hope by then you would have had lessons out on water to make sure you've ironed out any self-taught mistakes. But I love land-kiting as much as I do on the water, because it's [1] easy to setup and get going without changing gear and [2] no one around! All the best and let us know how you go.

    Flysurfer Speed 2 19m - mixer issues

Hi guys, I am hoping someone kind enough will help me tune this kite properly. Thanks in advance for your time. I've tuned this kite like 6 times now, and it still wants to fly past my head and into my rear! But if I shorten the back lines on my bar, the kite stalls into the wind window. I just can't seem to get it into that sweet spot. A great kite, but pulls like a truck if it suddenly wants to go to the zenith or edge of the wind window. So in flight, if I give the AOA full power, the kite flies over my head. If I pull the trim strap all the way out, the kite sits too low into the wind window, and it slowly and gradually picks up speed and pulls like a truck when it's moving into the zenith. There is a powerkite forum thread about this very problem and someone recommended the B and C bridles be shortened, and to ignore the "mixer test" alignment videos on youtube. I've not done this yet. My lines on the bar are all equal, including the fifth. I have flown it without the 5th line, and it really wanted to fly over my head. When I put the fifth back on, it steadied a bit better. Seems the natural weight of the 5th line and bridles makes it "heavier" so it floats better? Anyone had experience with this very kite, and how it flew for you? The latest is that A, B and C are all aligned, but I've left Z alone. Both sides are the same. I cannot get the Z adjusted anyway unless I change over the line entirely to something shorter (by about 2 inches). And yes, I've loosened the WAC line whilst tuning. Thank you so much for any advice.

    Flysurfer Speed 2 19m - mixer issues

So I read this thread after your advice there @Kamikuza https://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2392553&start=30&sid=2059c7dd26231c033dba699230f3c8d1 And applied the extra lengths on the SPL (100cm to start off with), and re-adjusted the mixer as per your tips too. VOILA!! Speed2 flies like my old Speed3 15m! Wow... what a difference in performance. Steady as a rock. Boosts like a rocket if I dare send it and pulls like a truck still but at least with more upwind. Thank you again guys.

    Flysurfer Speed 2 19m - mixer issues

You guys are amazing! Thank you so much. I've made some adjustments as per some in the kitefoil.com forums suggested (way back then when it came out), but I have to fly it to test. If it fails my "lofty stamp of approval" flying style, I'll try your awesome tips. Thank you soooooooo much again.
