Nice moves there Bob, good to hear your liking the Speed3
The Speed 3 is a dream. I'm just starting to get into a little unhooked action. The mixer test was needed to get it to perform.
The kite does it all and I'm disappointed when the wind is too strong and I have to get my old Manta 2 out.
However, the more confident I get with this kite, the less I'm using anything else. I had it out at 20knots once, but probably not again, as this was a little too crazy for me (especially with the self land) and the small oval. I was actually in the air more than on the ground. There was unexpected take offs all over the place. It was only the soft float ability that kept my underpants from turning brown.
Nice moves mate!
Sell the manta and get another speed
I would love to get another Speed. But, the usual story applies - I don't have the cash.
I just need to apply the old brain box and think about how to resolve this. I'm sure the answer is out there somewhere.
Maybe when the larger speed 4's are released there may be a 12m speed 3 on the market
Nice one Bob2
Good to see you have that Speed3 worked out and trimmed right now.
How come you take a card table along kiting? Is that so you can play cards while waiting for the wind?
I would say the cards are the in-flight entertainment whilst he waits for the kite to land during a boost.
Nice action Bob2. It's getting Zac thinking.
thanks for the comments guys.
The old card table is soon to be retired. It's getting a bit wonky and the cards seem to get scattered in the wind.
I'm saving my pennies now for a second hand speed 3 12m (hopefully there will be plenty hitting the market when the Speed 4 comes out in bigger sizes).
Also, Norman, you should get Zac a freebord. I just got one for my birthday and they are great fun (although, it took me 10 hours of practice to make a clean run down my street). I've used it with my trainer kite and it is so much fun, big sliding transitions, drifting slides upwind. It's very addictive fun. Once I have some better tricks wired, I'll remember to get the camera out.
