Sail The Sahara

Recommended Posts

This is an article extract from the "Official Journal Of The National Geographic Society" November 1967 titled "Dry-Land Fleet Sails The Sahara."  I came across this edition of National Geographic through a friend and thought it would be a good read for the land sailers in the community here.  The article has been scanned from the original magazine so please excuse the imperfections on some pages as they're nearly 50 years old, enjoy.

Man that is one gutsy adventure given the equipment they used, 150 miles in a day is a damn good effort.

Love the photo of the mast all cracked up and held together with tape and bandages.
