Aviator bar setup

Recommended Posts

Just got an Aviator bar and lines but no manual. I have set up bars before, but this looks different from what I'm used to. What's going on here...?

I know the front lines attach here, but how..? Don't want to assume anything. Also how do I attach safety line...? Cant find manual on PL website for bar.

No bar on the other side Kam. The safety line passes thru a hole on the back side of this. That is the red line sticking out. I found a manual for another PL bar - the magnet. Seems similar, but I still can't make sense of it yet.

I talked to Cheese last night - I don't have one of those bars, but the general idea with that would be to attach 1 front line to the metal pole, and the other front line to the safety (bungie) on the opposite side it is now. His pic is upside down, but when it's pulled tight (when you're flying) it's stopped at the top of the hole and both front lines are even. The question I had for him is if the hole gets smaller in some way at the top to let the bungie and front line in the hole, but stop the bungie from pulling all the way through. On release, the whole mess gets pushed up the front line by the bar. He also has no stopper on his frontline, so I guess it slides all the way to the kite? Would love to hear from someone who has this bar to see if any of this makes sense.

Here's what I mean:

Oct.8-14th was the Wildwood buggy bash held in Wildwood NJ, Usa. What started as a weekend get together has evolved into a week long gathering of buggy, boarding, and blokart family. This year, those who arrived early were treated to some amazing onshore winds courtesy of Hurricane Michael. Wildwood beach is approximately 7 miles of amazing hardpack facing the Atlantic ocean. This year we had 4 GT buggies, a PTW and 2 MG Supras as well as the assortment of PL and Flexifoil buggies. Having upgraded my gear this year allowed me to set several PB's. I buggied more this bash than all my previous ones combined.
